Not telling, perv.
The story starts in 1804. Sicily has been such a weak nation for the whole of history. Backwards technologically, constantly invaded by larger nations, and just being able to defend themselves from the invaders at the gates of Palermo. In 1804, the Sicilian treasury was only a few hundred gold, compared to the others. They were going bankrupt due to their leader, SicilyGuy, trying to modernize and militarize the fascist state.

True, the Sicilians were in the industrial ages, but other nations were in the modern ages.Sicily increased its science spending to 90%, which practically bankrupted the nation. But SicilyGuy didn't want a repeat of the war of 1662.

The War of 1662

In 1662, Sicily was ripe for war. Their settlers, escorted by musketmen, had been traveling through Iceland. The Icelanders, an agressive nation, saw this as a threat and declared war on Sicily. In the first turn of the war, the Icelanders killed all Sicilian troops in Iceland and siezed all of their settlers there, turning them into hardworking slaves. In 1663, Icelandic soldiers captured Messina and Catania, and Palermo and Syracuse were up ahead. Luckily for Sicily, in 1664 China (to Iceland's north) declared war on Iceland, so the Icelanders pulled out of Sicily and fought China. Sicily was then able to win a victory at Messina and sign peace, getting Catania back, but at the price of some 1000 gold. This kind of situation happened before in the Russo-Sicilian War (30-440 AD) and the French Invasion of 1100 (1100-1150).

SicilyGuy's program

In increasing the country's defense system, SicilyGuy erected the Ministry of Modern Defense, and hired a large research team. He payed them genorously and in return they discovered all kinds of secrets, like steampower, electricity, ironclads, medicine, and many more. By the turn of the century, Sicily was caught up with the other nations.

Their first new settlement since before Chirst

In 1888, Sicily sent colonists to the eastern continent, and they settled Naples. This was Sicily's fifth city (Palermo, Messina, Syracuse, and Catania were already built). On this eastern continent were the Carthaginians, Byzantines, Belgians, South Africans, and the Maya (on the west was Sicily, China, Iceland, and France, Russia, and i think the iroqouis used to be there but they were conquered early on). The Sicilians traded their large amounts of oil to them for luxury resources.

East and West Alliances

But this age of trade with the east soon faded. As Sicily founded Salerno (1899), Reggio di Calabria (1902) and Bari (1909), the eastern nations grew afraid of Sicily's quick expansion. In 1910, the South Africans signed mutual protection pacts with the Maya, Belgians, and Carthaginians. Soon Carthage signed one with Belgium and the Byzantines, and the Maya did with the Belgium. Afraid that Sicily could be at war with all of the east, Sicily signed a mutual protection pact with Iceland and China in 1915.

The Inevitable War

In 1917, the South Africans declared war on Sicily, setting off a chain reaction of wars. The Sicilians were prepared, however. Cruisers and battleships blockaded the coastal city of Johanesburg, South Africa, and planes from Salerno bombed the rest of the country. Later that year, infantry and tanks advanced into South Africa, undefeatedly crushing the armies outside of their cities.

In 1918, the Battle of Pretoria started. This was Sicily's chance to shine. They assaulted the city and captured it later that year. After that, Sicilian armies dispersed in South Africa taking Johanesburg and Cape Town. Then they moved into Byzantium and Maya.

The Mayans and Byzantines were destroyed by 1929, all of their cities razed. In 1931, the Belgian city of Antwerp fell to the Sicilians, and they noticed a border with China to the north. Their work was done. Sicily signed peace with Belgium (forcing Belgium to give up all of their treasury and their city of Namur) and then signed peace with Carthage (but China conquered them anyway by the 40s.)

Sicily Flourishing

And Sicily flourished. From 1947-60 they finished off Iceland and from 1972-74 they conquered the Belgians, who were just two cities left. China and Sicily co-existed for a while until the 2036 War of Nanking when Sicilian troops raided the city and in 2049 Sicily won when they captured Beijing, ending the Chinese Empire and getting a conquest victory (although one year later i could have won anyway by not conquering China). and that's the tale of the Sicilian Fascist Republican Colonial Empire (SIFARCE)

The Russo-Sicilian War

In 30AD the russians declared war on sicily so i tried to defend myself with pre-historic archers, warriors, spearmen but they overran me with their pikemen and whatnot. I lost four cities to them and by the end of the war they had Palermo, Messina, and Syracuse under siege, so i signed peace giving them all my treasury and technology of the republic. After that i tried to build my military but i was too bankrupt to.

French Invasion

The French Invasion of 1100 to 1150 was a short campaign by France. Like other powers, they closed in quickly and attacked Palermo by 1120 after taking a city just northwest of Palermo. In 1140 i had a lucky break when the icelanders declared war on the french. I tried to get back my lost city but the icelanders took it...err...in 1150 i signed peace with france, got a little gold and i invested all of that in science which ultimately failed me...and that's those wars.
