Challenging Fate
"Manifest Destiny.
This human phrase has defined the fate of the galaxy, for better or for worse. Whenever a powerful human civilization found a society they considered beneath them, they didn't just revel in the opportunity to overpower the natives and claim their land for themselves. No, they considered it fate to conquer, as if some higher being ordained them to build an empire and lord over the inferiors. The Romans, the British, the Americans, the Germans, the Brazilians... they all rose and fell on the promise that one day they would build an empire to stand time itself.
When we had first contact with humanity back in 2134, we were shocked they managed to leave their cradle divided. Usually, a species would had unified before then. Once we talked to them, to see their initially hostility towards us and their suspicion of our peaceful intentions... we were floored. They could barely trust each other, let alone 'aliens', as they dubbed us.
The Xa'arth were fools. They were too prideful; they thought the humans' suspicion was simply disrespect. When they demanded concessions, we learned a lesson: Don't threaten humans with guns. Because the only thing they hate more than one of them threatening another one of them, is an alien threatening them all. If the Xa'arth were still around, they would agree with me.
Of course, the humans went back to hating each other. That was the only thing saving us Qu'li. By the time those apes came for us, they at least acknowledged that genociding other races was bad form. Everyone in the galaxy tried to play the various human nations against each other, hoping that would keep them from doing a repeat of the Xa'arth War.
However, none of us back in 2202 saw the unification of Earth coming until it was too late. What we thought was just another dictator, that damned Regina, ended up declaring war on all the Earth nations. And although she condemned her planet to burn for decades, from her seat in London rose the first Empress of The United Earthrealms . To this day, her descendants are still the Emperors of the Realm, and by extension all of known space.
Humanity then started a never-ending crusade to wipe our countries off the face of the galactic map. Entire species, some independent spacefaring nations for millennium, finally felt what a jackboot felt like. Us Qu'li were no exception, despite our best efforts of resistance. It took a while, but by 2543, all of known space was under Earth's rule.
Other species have tried before. They had telepathy, psychokensisis, natural flight, natural weapons, gifts far above than the humans ever had. But the human's paranoia? That was their unique gift. That's what gave them the edge. No matter how hard we tried to predict them, they managed to panic in ways we'd never expect. And that made them the universe's best warriors.
None of the past human empires have ever lasted. They all fell eventually. Perhaps in time, The United Realms will collaspe soon. But it's 2918. None of the human's empires have ever lasted this long. I fear the idea that any history involving an independent Qu led by the Qu'li has already happened..."

Hello and welcome to the next installment to the MegsAC family. I'm your hostess, Omega, and today we are going to run an AC. An AC based in SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE.
Standard AC rules still apply. You should know them by now, ask me if you don't. I hold the right to reject any player's application, but as long as its not completely stupid and/or a rip off we shouldn't have a problem. So, let's get on with the only part people actually read in OPs, the character sheet!
Code:
[plain][b]Name:[/b]
[b]Species:[/b]
[b]Sex:[/b]
[b]Age:[/b]
[b]Description:[/b]
[b]Feats:[/b]
[b]Bio:[/b][/plain]
"Holy Jesus," the average viewer might exclaim upon reading the character sheet, "This is the shortest character sheet in the history of AC! Surely something must be missing, right?"
NO.
As you may or may not know, I run my ACs 100% dicefree. Thus, I don't feel the point of even pretending to have stats this time around. This is not untested water for me; TNA was diceless too and none of you even noticed. While we're on the subject of disclaimers, this is going to be a very RP-based game. Not every mission will even have a fight (especially if you're doing things correctly). In terms of previous ACs, the Hunt and Island of Dreams are two big influences, and both of them had long stretches of pure RP. So, if you don't like the sound of either, this might not be the AC for you
So, without further ado, time to explain what little needs to explained for this game.
Name: What word should I refer to the idiot that is your character?
Species: Is your character a human or an alien? This is important; thanks to humanity's imperialistic ways, aliens are treated as second class citizens at best. If alien, I encourage you to make your own race (see feats)
Sex: Does your character have boobs or not? (Note: Not responsible for confusion on non-mammalian based aliens)
Age: Plz be reasonable if you're a human. No children/impossibly old people. Aliens, as you're more... alien, you have more leeway in terms of what constitutes as reasonable.
Description: Tell me all about your character so I can mind-ogle them Very important for aliens so I can visualize what I'm even dealing with.
Feats: THE ONLY THING THAT ACTUALLY DESERVES EXPLANATION
At the beginning of the game, you get four feats. These feats can be anything your mind can possibly think of. A weapon, for instance, would cost a feat. Or perhaps a really advanced gadget, like a jetpack. Or maybe your character can run a lot faster than others, or is more naturally charming. I'm not providing a list; come up with them on your own.
Aliens: feats will be judged based on comparison to an average human. If your alien can fly, for instance, that is a feat, even if /every/ member of your species can fly. This is just for fairness.
Humans: We are not special. We do not have what we would consider to be "gifts", like PSI powers. Do not even try. Cybernetics, on the other hand, is perfectly kosher.
Bio: What is the history of your character? Do note the opening blurb, especially the last one. It's not there just for just fluff
For the purposes of the game, assume you are equipped with the following:
space suit adapted for your species
universal translator (only works for verbal speech)
radio (for communication with each other; no music broadcasted (unless you broadcast it yourself )
That should wrap things up. Missions start next week on Tuesday, Missions are here. Can't wait to see your characters.
