"Manifest Destiny.

This human phrase has defined the fate of the galaxy, for better or for worse. Whenever a powerful human civilization found a society they considered beneath them, they didn't just revel in the opportunity to overpower the natives and claim their land for themselves. No, they considered it
fate to conquer, as if some higher being ordained them to build an empire and lord over the inferiors. The Romans, the British, the Americans, the Germans, the Brazilians... they all rose and fell on the promise that one day they would build an empire to stand time itself.

When we had first contact with humanity back in 2134, we were shocked they managed to leave their cradle divided. Usually, a species would had unified before then. Once we talked to them, to see their initially hostility towards us and their suspicion of our peaceful intentions... we were floored. They could barely trust each other, let alone 'aliens', as they dubbed us.

The Xa'arth were fools. They were too prideful; they thought the humans' suspicion was simply disrespect. When they demanded concessions, we learned a lesson: Don't threaten humans with guns. Because the only thing they hate more than one of them threatening another one of them, is an alien threatening them all. If the Xa'arth were still around, they would agree with me.

Of course, the humans went back to hating each other. That was the only thing saving us Qu'li. By the time those apes came for us, they at least acknowledged that genociding other races was bad form. Everyone in the galaxy tried to play the various human nations against each other, hoping that would keep them from doing a repeat of the Xa'arth War.

However, none of us back in 2202 saw the unification of Earth coming until it was too late. What we thought was just another dictator, that damned Regina, ended up declaring war on all the Earth nations. And although she condemned her planet to burn for decades, from her seat in London rose the first Empress of The United Earthrealms . To this day, her descendants are still the Emperors of the Realm, and by extension all of known space.

Humanity then started a never-ending crusade to wipe our countries off the face of the galactic map. Entire species, some independent spacefaring nations for millennium, finally felt what a jackboot felt like. Us Qu'li were no exception, despite our best efforts of resistance. It took a while, but by 2543, all of known space was under Earth's rule.

Other species have tried before. They had telepathy, psychokensisis, natural flight, natural weapons, gifts far above than the humans ever had. But the human's paranoia? That was their unique gift. That's what gave them the edge. No matter how hard we tried to predict them, they managed to panic in ways we'd never expect. And that made them the universe's best warriors.

None of the past human empires have ever lasted. They all fell eventually. Perhaps in time, The United Realms will collaspe soon. But it's 2918. None of the human's empires have ever lasted this long. I fear the idea that any history involving an independent Qu led by the Qu'li has already happened...

Hello and welcome to the next installment to the MegsAC family. I'm your hostess, Omega, and today we are going to run an AC. An AC based in SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE.

Standard AC rules still apply. You should know them by now, ask me if you don't. I hold the right to reject any player's application, but as long as its not completely stupid and/or a rip off we shouldn't have a problem. So, let's get on with the only part people actually read in OPs, the character sheet!

Code:
[plain][b]Name:[/b]
[b]Species:[/b]
[b]Sex:[/b]
[b]Age:[/b]
[b]Description:[/b]

[b]Feats:[/b]

[b]Bio:[/b][/plain]

"Holy Jesus," the average viewer might exclaim upon reading the character sheet, "This is the shortest character sheet in the history of AC! Surely something must be missing, right?"

NO.

As you may or may not know, I run my ACs 100% dicefree. Thus, I don't feel the point of even pretending to have stats this time around. This is not untested water for me; TNA was diceless too and none of you even noticed. While we're on the subject of disclaimers, this is going to be a very RP-based game. Not every mission will even have a fight (especially if you're doing things correctly). In terms of previous ACs, the Hunt and Island of Dreams are two big influences, and both of them had long stretches of pure RP. So, if you don't like the sound of either, this might not be the AC for you

So, without further ado, time to explain what little needs to explained for this game.

Name: What word should I refer to the idiot that is your character?
Species: Is your character a human or an alien? This is important; thanks to humanity's imperialistic ways, aliens are treated as second class citizens at best. If alien, I encourage you to make your own race (see feats)
Sex: Does your character have boobs or not? (Note: Not responsible for confusion on non-mammalian based aliens) :p
Age: Plz be reasonable if you're a human. No children/impossibly old people. Aliens, as you're more... alien, you have more leeway in terms of what constitutes as reasonable.
Description: Tell me all about your character so I can mind-ogle them :p Very important for aliens so I can visualize what I'm even dealing with.

Feats: THE ONLY THING THAT ACTUALLY DESERVES EXPLANATION

At the beginning of the game, you get four feats. These feats can be anything your mind can possibly think of. A weapon, for instance, would cost a feat. Or perhaps a really advanced gadget, like a jetpack. Or maybe your character can run a lot faster than others, or is more naturally charming. I'm not providing a list; come up with them on your own.

Aliens: feats will be judged based on comparison to an average human. If your alien can fly, for instance, that is a feat, even if /every/ member of your species can fly. This is just for fairness.

Humans: We are not special. We do not have what we would consider to be "gifts", like PSI powers. Do not even try. Cybernetics, on the other hand, is perfectly kosher.

Bio: What is the history of your character? Do note the opening blurb, especially the last one. It's not there just for just fluff

For the purposes of the game, assume you are equipped with the following:

space suit adapted for your species
universal translator (only works for verbal speech)
radio (for communication with each other; no music broadcasted (unless you broadcast it yourself ;))

That should wrap things up. Missions start next week on Tuesday, Missions are here. Can't wait to see your characters. :D

NPCs

Een: A mysterious rebel/terrorist who leads the Children's Mirrors, a secretive group with a personal vendetta against the Realm. She is currently suspected of hiding on Ter, and is the reason the group is on the planet.

du Hass, Franklin: The Count of Bleura, and the local governor of the region of space where the AC takes place. Is extremley rich, and comes from a long lineage of warriors. Currently is offering one billion credits to anyone who can bring Een to him, preferably alive.

du Hass, Sophie: The illegitimate child of the du Hass family. She implied her father sired her, while her father claimed he was not responsible for bringing her into this world. Either way, she is clearly unloved by her father, as shown by their hostile exchanges and due to the fact Franklin does not seem to care if she dies or not. Has no combat skills, but has an extensive knowledge of history.

Trekvon: A bounty hunter and an old friend of Franklin. Was after the same bounty for Een as the group. Was killed in action during the landing on Ter.

Species

Human: The founding and dominant race of The United Realm. Controls the entire "known space" through a legacy of brutal conquests of alien species. Has no real physical capabilities to set apart from other species, but their unpredictable, fear-filled minds make them a threat that other species can not overcome.

Boppin: A pitifully small, teddy bear-like species. Have unusually short lifespans, but make up for it with an intelligence unsurpassed in the galaxy. Were not even spacefaring when Incorporated into the United Realm. Human concerns of overbreeding are common.

Mal'both: A species not unlike the centaur, except with a spider rather than horse half. Can spin webs and breeds through injecting their young into living hosts. Were once breeding out of control, but a human-made biological weapon left them unable to effectively breed.

Nah'cata: Half flora, half fauna. Dependent on photosynthesis to survive, and are very hardy to non-fire weaponry. Also one of the more rebellious species in the Realm; they are one of the few species to have actually beaten humans in a war, and although they are currently under the thumb of humanity, many Nah'cata yearn for a day to be free once again.

Qu'li: An amphibious humanoid species with large craniums, yellow skin, and four arms. Rival the Boppin in terms of raw intelligence, but not have the matching short lifespans. Very isolationist species, rarely venturing out of their home planet.

Vahan-Yantra: A robot species that was essentially enslaved by humanity following their conquests. They were reprogrammed so they would assimilate under human culture, and be obedient servants wherever needed.

Xa'arth: A mantis-like species. Is extinct. Was once noted for their culture's emphasis on pride, honor, and respect. The first victim of space-faring humans, and one of the few species humanity drove to outright extinction.

Name: Scarlett Lament
Species: Homo Sapiens
Sex: Female
Age: 25
Description: A tall human woman with short-cut red hair and bright green eyes, Scarlett wears the standard dull grey spacesuit of the Survey Corps, and carries their bulky backpack with surprising ease.
Bio: Scarlett Lament grew up on a small space station around the all-but uninhabited planet of Creets, and after a relatively uneventful childhood left to find a more interesting career in the outer corners of the galaxy. Finding herself unhappy with the bustling life in the more inhabited areas, she turned to the Survey Corps; a group established to survey newly discovered planets. After completing training and a single mission, she was dispatched to Ter. However, rather than facing the planet alone, she instead teamed up with a group of other adventurers, who had been hired to hunt out a dangerous rebel who was believed to have taken refuge there.

Name: Mariko Sloan
Species: Vahan-Yantra (See Race)
Sex: Identifies as Female
Age: Unknown, created pre-Awakening.
Description: Being a race of sentient machines, the Vahan-Yantra could theoretically be built with any form that they desire. However strict regulation of Vahan-Yantra Modifications, or VY Mods, restricts all but a few Vahan-Yantra to a bipedal humanoid form anywhere from five to ten feet tall. Mariko herself stands at a perfectly reasonable seven foot height, sporting a slim outer casing that resembles a feminine form. Said outer casing is constructed to resemble a standard form-fitting EV suit, something a mercenary with good taste would wear for his day job, from the neck down, colored pitch black and gunmetal gray, with the Proxima Consortium logo on the shoulder. Her face is constructed of a high-quality and malleable polymer, and gives her the appearance of an attractive human female, betrayed only by the pale gray color of her "skin", the thin lines between the plating that allows it to move, and her LED-illuminated blue eyes. She also has short "hair" made of silver thin cables, another perk of a corporate paycheck, though when she's working it's usually hidden under retractable helmet and face mask.
Feats:
  • Domo Arigato, Mrs. Roboto - The Vahan-Yantra are a race of sentient, machines. Fusion-powered batteries allow them to survive without any form of sustenance besides regular maintenance, and are invulnerable to pain.
  • GRAYFOX Mimetic Polymer- A VY Mod of questionable legality, the mimetic polymer in her casing allows her to mimic the color and patterns of any nearby surface, making her incredibly difficult to see with the naked eye while moving slowly, and nearly invisible when standing still.
  • HATTORI Endoskeletal Substructure, Mark 2- Another VY Mod of questionable legality, this is a selection of joint reinforcements and cyberneural stimulants made for Proxima Consortium agents that greatly enhance the strength and dexterity of the user. Designed more for agility and speed than raw power, the M2 is nevertheless an effective tool for when a fight needs to end quickly, or when a disposable individual is acting against the interests of the Consortium
  • BEIFONG Echolocator- A VY Mod that is actually legal, albeit very expensive, the Echolocator is a backup system that projects soundwaves at an ultrasonic frequency which allow her to see when she is otherwise unable to. While she can still discern between sizes, shapes, and differences, visual details like the contents of a computer screen would be entirely undetectable.
  • Viper-8 - Gifted with a suitably scary name, the Viper-8 is a heavy, long barreled handgun designed for Proxima Consortium agents that are Vahan-Yantra or otherwise enhanced with mechanical constructs. It is heavy and cumbersome at first, but in the mechanical hands of a Vahan-Yantra like Mariko, it is a powerful sidearm that can be fired with frightening accuracy, as certain enemies of the Consortium have learned the hard way.
  • Digital Lockpick - Mariko is really good with computers, considering she technically is one. On top of that, the Consortium has generously uploaded a suite of firewall bypassing and password breaking software into her neural network. Theoretically this means that she could break through any sort of security system on an electronic device with relative ease and steal secrets for her employers, but it is only used for internal security checks. Mostly.

Anti-Feats:
  • Mata Au Hi Made - Being a sentient machine isn't without a few downsides. While the Vahan-Yantra can perform small repairs on their bodies, they are unable to heal naturally. They are also highly susceptible to EMP attacks, which can disable them for an extended length of time if they are particularly unlucky.
  • Collaborator - The Vahan-Yantra have been steadfast allies of the humans since their hive mind was destroyed, and regularly assisted them in the oppression of the other species in the known galaxy. Consequently, many Vahan-Yantra are despised by non-humans, and Mariko is no exception.

Bio: Before Mariko was Mariko, she was one of the many billions of confused Vahan-Yantra wandering around the galaxy at the beck and call of the humans following their assimilation, being sent where an engineering or combat drone was needed and regarded as little more than a tool by the human overlords. Like most of her race, she quickly became acclimated to human culture, and took on the name and identity of Mariko Sloan shortly before she entered the employment of the Proxima Consortium, a sprawling intergalactic corporation with dubious intentions. With no head for economic theory, Mariko served as an enforcer for the Consortium, providing security on the surface, but more often then not performing actions of questionable legality on behalf of the Consortium. Stealing secrets, roughing up a few suppliers, or even eliminating a few undesirables are regular occurrences in her line of work, and Mariko Sloan knows better then to ask too many questions.

As for what the Proxima Consortium wants with the terrorist Eem, that remains to be seen. But the Consortium must want to speak to her pretty badly if they send Mariko Sloan to Tem to get him.

Race: Coming

Name: Eve (human nickname); Asha'thothag (Hive name, means "Broodmother" or "Queen of Mal'boths")
Species: Mal'both; human refer this race as "Spider-people"
Sex: Broodmother - The equivalent of female.
Age: 375
Description: Something like this:
Spoiler :

Feats:
  • Web shooting: She shoots strands of spider web silk to cocoon her victims and can even shoot from from afar.
  • Agility: Eve can run, jump, and move fast.
  • Incapacitating Bite: Paralytic toxins come from Eve fangs, she can launch a blast of that toxin causing a slow and painful death to those who intrude on her webs.
  • Spin Web: Weaving a bed of silken fibers, Eve's web both protects her and her offspring, as well as giving advancing opponents a sense of foreboding. She can use to slow enemies or to climb.
  • Spider Swarm: The genetics of Mal'both queens allow them to launch directly capsules containing endoparasites, thus eliminating the need for eggs. The projectile can penetrate the flesh of a enemy. The spiderlings will hatch if the target is killed while under this influence.
  • Insatiable Hunger: An ancient Mal'both's instinct and a violent lust for vital fluids make Eve an excellent melee fighter.

Anti-feats:

  • Infertile: The Mal'both were targets of a biological weapon called "Black-Cloud" made by humans. It was designed to severely reduce Mal'both numbers by "infecting" the species with a genetic mutation. This change in gene affects the fertilization of Mal'both eggs, making them weak and susceptible to climate, poisons and diseases, many offspring die seconds after born while most of the eggs don't hatch.
  • Tank-breed: The hive that Eve was born was generated in the laboratory by humans, thus she is a lab-born. This hive is an attempt to industrialize breed and create a more obedient race toward humans. She is the "princess" of that colony, mainly used by humans as a expendable army. Thus, she is involuntarily non-aggressive toward humans, mainly the scientists who created her. By having her genetic slightly changed in laboratory, she does not have the mutation that leaves her infertile.

Bio: Coming

Race: [If necessary] Coming

Name: An'dara (Slave Queen) - Anne, Andrea, and Dara (acceptable human renames) - Flower (human nickname)
Species: Nah'cata ("Of Earth") - Eco's (human nickname, not derogatory, but not correct) - Weeds (derogatory/slur used by humans)
Sex: Hermaphrodite - Humans see them as an all female species
Age: 23 Nah'cata years, 15 Earth Years (Human equivalent of 18)
Description:

Feats:
  • Photosynthesizer: Because of her species' plant based biology, when in the sunlight she can create her own energy to live and grow, so long as she has sunlight and water, when these two resources cannot be found, she can consume other organic mater to get the energy needed to function.
[*]Ironbark Armor: Nah'cata can harden their skin to a hardness similar to wood, which can better protect them from both the elements as well as from dehydration, however this prevents a use of many other feats and will not last forever, eventually they will shed their bark skin.
[*]Pamela Ivy: Nah'cata naturally produce various chemicals in their "skin", from poisons to pheromones and perfumes, these can be used to damage, seduce, or incapacitate foes.
[*]Vine whip: Nah'cata can grow and control vines and other out of themselves that can be used in various ways, to ensnare enemies or as a way to make a bandage, or anything else that can be thought of.
[*]Explosive Thorns: Nah'cata can grow thorns on their bodies, including their vines, these thorns can be used either as a defensive mechanism or a can be used as a projectile to irritate enemies, these thorns can also be infused with any chemical, poison or otherwise, to deal more damage if needed.
[*]Hydro Pack: A machine created by humans, and forcibly implanted on An'dara to keep her and her fellow enslaved Nah'cata hydrated. It takes oxygen and hydrogen from the atmosphere to create water, and then through the use of a complex and painful web of tubes and syringes distributes or removes water from the body of An'dara to keep her optimally hydrated. It can also store excess water in a built in storage tank. The Hydro pack must be charged every day to function at an optimal level.

Anti-Feats:

  • Flammable: Being a member of a plant based species makes her extremely flammable, more so when dehydrated.
[*]Hydrophillic: Being a plant, Nah'cata require either frequent consumption of water, or very humid conditions similar to their home planet to survive. Without water Nah'cata become dehydrated, become brittle and fragile, more flammable, and will eventually die unless they become hydrated again.

Bio: Later promise <3

Species Info: Later promise <3

Name: Doctor Amura Oedan
Species: Boppin
Sex: Female
Age: 11 (human equivalent of 40)
Description:
Spoiler :

Feats:
  • Archeologist: Amura has a doctorate in Archeology and as such is well versed in history of ancient cultures.
  • Bright Mind: All Boppins have a naturally more powerful brain than most other species allowing them to overcome the obstacles to learning presented by their short lifespan.
  • Inconspicuous: Due to her physical appearance Amura is likely to be passed over as harmless when around members of other species.
  • Enhanced Senses: All Boppins have naturally sharper senses than humans allowing them to notice more things.
  • Night Vision: All Boppins have a natural ability to see in low light situations.
  • Diplomatic: Due in part to being well traveled and educated and in part to natural talent Amura has a skill for dealing with others in a non-violent way.
  • First-Aid: Amura has learned through her travels many useful skills such as first-aid.
Anti-Feats:
  • Handle With Care: The skeletal structure of Boppins are smaller than other species and as such they are more fragile and likely to be injured from physical attacks.
  • Little Kitty: Boppins come up to a human adult's knees when fully grown and as such are much physically weaker than humans.
  • What is this? A weapon for giants?: Due to her short stature Amura can only use weapons that were tailored for her species.
Bio: Amura was always considered to be overly curious even by the standards of the naturally inquisitive Boppins. Earning her doctorate in archeology Amura dreamed of preserving the history of civilizations before dominance by humans. While she did try to spend her time as a professor the job proved to sedentary for her and soon she quit in order to more actively pursue her study. Along the way she has been forced to take odd jobs as a coordinator and logistics support for various groups in order to fund her activities (apparently freelance archeology is not a profitable business. Who knew?) such as this job to hunt down Een.

Boppins are a rather new race under the human empire, being conquered when they were entering their information era. However unlike many races that faced a similar leap in technology the Boppins managed to cross it with relative ease due to their short lifespans providing a quick turnover and their population being brighter than that of the average species. Their large birthrate has allowed them to expand quickly into the galaxy at large and usually they end up working as cheap skilled labor for human corporations. This has led to a large xenophobic reaction by the human middle class who accuse the Boppins of being subversive and stealing their jobs.

Name: Thranve Nraixer
Species: Tharmiage
Sex: Male
Age: 236
Description: In their neutral form, a Tharmiage is a scaled humanoid with a dark greenish coloring, with the scaling the hardest on the chest and around the head, with 2 plates of pure scales rising on each side of the head, straight of the sides and curving around the curve of the head for an inch with a gap between the two. Relatively tall for a Tharmiage at 8 feet.

Feats:

Morphing: A Tharmiage can morph into any living creature, whether it be a fly or a one celled organism, to something such as a giant sea creature or an eagle. This includes humans, in which form he spends most of his time.

Wolverine: Tharmiages can extend 'claws' from their hand, with hardened scale features extending from the spaces between the finger joints on each hand. How many can be extended and how long they are vary on a case by case basis and can be affected by age.

Invulnerable Immune System: Tharmiages are universally immune to poison of any kind, whether through fluid, air, or solids such as food. They also are immune to every disease except the Trena, a strain of biologically manufactured disease created by humans in case of trouble caused by a Tharmiage. Rare and kept in military labs on Sol and Luna. Humans keep such a strain for most alien species, just in case.

Physically Capable: Tharmiages are able to perform at a higher physical level than most species, able to move quicker, sustain higher speeds while on foot for longer periods of time, able to jump several meters high with no forward momentum, great balance, and very agile in general. They are also several times stronger than a human. These characteristics carry over (to a point) when morphed into another form such as a human, and do not preclude augmentation if they morph into something which is stronger than even they.

Teleportation: Tharmiages all have the ability of either teleportation or telekinesis with the former being the most common and what category Thranve fits into. He can transport himself in the blink of an eye to any place within his sight, or has been within his sight within the last 10 seconds or so. This limits the distance to maybe a few miles while on plains, but what is special about him is that he can do it rapid fire, useful to confuse somebody or to quickly lose a pursuer.

Icewall: Similar to a firewall on a computer, an Icewall is a skill that any species can learn in connection to their mind. An Icewall allows somebody to control the access of their mind to telepaths and other abilities that allow somebody else access to your mind. This Icewall is typically left in place, and is a strong defense that can only be broken by a greatly skilled telepath.

Ancient Language: Thranve, while still among his species, was part of an elite group with an inborn ability to use 'magic' through the use of words that are part of the 'Ancient Language'. However he became an outcast early in training, leading to him only knowing a handful of words that he can manipulate to do some simple and intermediate tasks. No matter what he does, the action costs the user the amount of energy that it would cost you to do such a thing manually. If you run out of energy, you die, although there are usually some obvious warning signs such as dizziness, numbness, and fainting. This knowledge could perhaps be expanded at the risk of venturing back into the strongholds of this elite group...

Anti Feats

Side Wound: Thranve sustained a wound to his side that nearly killed him when he was yet a youngling. This wound significantly bothers him to this day, and a powerful enough strike to his left side may leave him temporarily dazed.

Outcast: Among his own people Thranve is an outcast for the crime of murder. If he encounters another Tharmiage, and a Tharmiage can sense a fellow Tharmiage nearby even if they have shifted form, then that Tharmiage has the option to kill Thranve for honor, or to simply shun him. Most alien races are also suspicious of the Thranve, a suspicion that exists from before the time of human dominance.

Technologically Illiterate: He is inept with technology of almost any kind as Tharmiages do not rely upon technology at all. He can do the basics, push buttons, and follow basic instruction, but no computer usage for this guy.

Bio: To be determined.

Name: Jack Grooms
Species: Human
Sex: Yes, please.
Age: 32
Description: I'm six-foot-one and lots of fun, and my hair is combed to a t. I got some of the sleekest black hair this side of the system, and eyes that can pierce the galactic core like the spear our savior.

Feats:

The Hand O' Glory: Picked this up back in '88 after doing some guard work for an archaeological dig that got roughed up by natives. The pay was bad, but I needed the money, and figured nobody would miss this thing. The HOG fits like the smoothest, sleekest, silvery silk metal thing you could imagine on my hand. Here's what I know it does.

1. Anti-Terror Field. That's what I call it. When my hand starts vibrating, it means this thing is disrupting some poor sap's telepathic and telekinetic ability nearby.

2. Anti-Jerk Beam. The AJB is the ATF's younger, sexier sister. I can point the HOG at somebody that they start losing it. "Mindflaying" is a good word it. As far as I know, the effects are temporary, but I don't have a dark enough heart to use it on somebody for prolonged periods of time. I'm not a monster.

3. Brawler Mode. Brawler Mode is so cool. I don't know how, but this thing knows when I'm about to get into a tussle and when it does, the thing lets me punch like a bull.

4. Chosen One Syndrome. This thing won't work for anybody else. I dunno why. Some badass back in '94 tried to swipe it from me. Slid it on his hand and he stopped having a hand. It is like his hand dissolved with acid or something, because even the bone was gone. Nothing but a puddle.

Knocked him out and used the credits to pay for breakfast though.

Anti-Feat

I'm just too damn sexy for my own good.

Bio: Not much to say. I was born, had a nice family, had a nice childhood, went to a decent university, and in-between it all I realized I wanted more. It started off with just traveling, then being kidnapped, then being kidnapped by people with more guns, those people being led by an insane but good-hearted bounty hunter who gave me a gun and taught me to shoot, some solo work doing guardwork, a few bounties, this, that, and the other thing.

I never struck it rich, but I barely ever starved. I got to travel the stars and the seven arms, but this Een chick? She's my ticket to the galactic core.

Well. This is my first time on these forums. So, please, have mercy, because lord this will be stupid.

Name: Amber (can we get away with only a first name?)
Species: Human
Sex: Female (so yes, I do indeed have boobies).
Age: 27
Description: 6 feet tall, with long black hair. She's rather irremarkable as far as beauty goes, and nature did not favor her with exactly pretty looks that can swoon men.

Feats:
Cybernetic Limbs: Amber is with military grade cybernetic enchantments provided to her during her rather short military service, and as of such, they make her better, stronger, faster. Unfortunately, fixing them in case some kind of a fault happens is very, very expensive. She was also smart enough not to put any in the brain. Causes funny stuff, such as schizophrenia and paranoia.
Power Fist: During one of her jobs, provided by a military company whose identify shall remain confidential, she received this weapon for testing. She liked it so much she decided to run away with it, much to the dismay and anger. They are holding grudges, and when they do, they tend to send friendly people to resolve them.
Outdoorsman: Perhaps she might lack a degree in Quantum Physics, but she can live from the land easily. That doesn't mean however she'll neglect the beauties of civilization, like a warm bed and hot water, but she sure can do without them.
Terran Army Recon Armor: One of her clients, who researched her past, decided that instead of a monetary reward, she should receive this armour. It has been very useful to her, as it is both light and protective.

Anti-Feats:
Temperamental: Many times a bar fight has began because some fool decided to pick her up. She isn't a shy from starting a fight, which often gets her into serious trouble.

Bio: Amber was born in a rather distant planet. Perhaps, under different circumstances, the Galaxy would have stayed away from this far corner, and Amber would remain innocent and die from something related to a colonist's life - be it smallpox or a native raid. Sadly, soon the pastoral system that once was where she was born had changed. Forever.

The Galaxy has come.

In a nearby planet, before populated with simple colonists, living in relative (as far as humans can) harmony with the local natives, resources sparkling the imagination of the always hungry for more and more, an army was created to subjugate, exploit, and if necessary - exterminate all that stands between the riches that they're clamouring for. Soon, criminals, smugglers, foreigners with eyes blind from greed came there. They were armed by the human race, and their mission was to take as much as possible.

It would be the end of any native population. But, amazingly, or perhaps not, considering the adaptability of the locals, reminding humans of their very own, the hunters who once used nothing but a simple spear and could barely build a ram, now were armed with plasma rifles and used mines deviously wherever possible.

After the complete and total destruction of the initial "army", which truthfully was only compromised of the lowest of low, so these degenerates could slowly assimilate the natives, an approach that in the past worked ever so perfectly, the rage of the Human Race soon swept in with full power. An actual army, partially fused with elite and heavily armed troops, and part draftees from the nearby colonies, was set on with one goal: total and utter extermination of the natives.

Amber was one of these draftees. At age of 18, she found war. Brutal, total war. And perhaps, fate might have it that she would become a grizzled soldier, who would never question orders and fight until the very last drop of blood. Her commanders certainly thought so.

One event changed all that. It happened during one patrol. A road in a no-man's land, dangerous and filled with enemies. She took the mission, maybe because she was young and stupid and like all people like that, wanted to prove her worth. And then.. One mine changed all that. A deadly mine, filled with coins that the natives traded in, an ancient, but ever so deadly technique favourite by many guerrillas to this very day. One step, and the next thing she remembered is the nurse's face and her exclamation of amazement that she's still alive and concious.

The doctor soon came. He told her the news that would shape her future - her limbs were ripped off by the mine and the coins, and were replaced with cybernetic ones.

It was then, when she realised, that she wasn't much beyond a loose canon, set for fire so that the mad dreams of greed that the humans can become reality; a butcher upon whose hands the blood of innocents have stained, and will stain.

Once she recovered, the first thing she did was, one night to steal a ship, and desert this army of death and greed. Her desertion did not matter; everyone was drunk, there are thousand, no, million of people here. And if they noticed, would it matter? Yet another green soldier who ran away from the field of battle. Ten more are always available to fit her position...

Six years have passed since then.

As it might appear, few people can maintain army-grade cybernetics. Even these few ones charged harshly.

And then, an email. Promising her a fortune, if she cooperates with several more people. 1 billion credits will do a long way towards her future.

It was a proposal that only a fool could deny. And Amber, was not a fool.

She set on to hunt Eme.

Well, what do you say? Bad? Good? Horrible? Decent?

EDIT: So, what do you think? Is the bio too long, or too bad, or will it do?

My only corrections are that each anti-feat grants you an extra feat, so you would have 8, and it's spelled cybernetic, but looks fine to me. Still get Omega (we call him Megs) to go over it, though.

Welcome to the ACing community Tolni! :D

Was kind of confused by previous posts. I guess that some of their feats actually count as racial characteristics.

No problem, it is always good to see new people joining ACs. My only suggestion is to avoid using Arya as an example, his character has more than a few problems and Megs hasn't approved any of his feats. People who have been approved are: SS, Scarlet King, and myself.

If you want to talk to other ACers we usually are found hanging out on AChat or IOTchat depending on who you are trying to find.

Also since Megs didn't include the time that pretty much every AC runs: 5:00 EST. It is the time that works best for the most people but if you are not in the Americas then you are pretty much limited to being nocturnal or weekends if you want to AC.

That would be because megs refuses to discuss the topic with me otherwise those problems would be fixed, now wouldn't they?

Missions for this particular AC can run anywhere between 4 and 5 EST, for refernece.

Name: Thomas Faraday
Species: Illegally Genetically Engineered Human-type
Sex: Male-type
Age: 24
Description:
Current Appearance:Well groomed and postured Thomas stands at 185 cm and has reasonable length brown hair that could even be described as dashing. He is clean shaven and smiles a lot. He's affable and cheery with a look of intelligence. Often seen wearing woollen jumpers over chequered shirts.

Feats:

Father's Trust Fund
Rich beyond what normal people would consider reasonable Thomas' family comes from a long line of the upper classes. He dines on the best food, is afforded the best clothes and can always ring up the family trust if he finds himself in a financial rut.

Truly Dashing
Its not just the money that had the girls swooning over him in earlier life. Thomas truly is a charming and friendly person, he likes conversation and debate and engages well with other people. He's a singer, he writes poems and songs, and is also known to be proficient in some of the more tasteful courtly dances.

Well Educated
The best wealth can afford the best education. This has always been the way and as far as Thomas is concerned it will always be the way. Thomas received his degree at 19 and PhD at 22 in Philosophy. He's well versed in discourse and discussion and has always been good at grasping the abstract quickly. During his education he studied extensively Bayesian methods.

Cardshark
Getting to grips with Bayesian inference didn't just aid in Thomas' development academically. But also the shadier side of his life. He got into gambling in a bad way and soon found himself raking in the cash, but also carrying a gun at his side. Thomas is adept at all manner of cardgames and also at the shadier aspect of cavorting with the cardshark scene - he's disposed of plenty a dead body in his time.

The Henrietta
A Henrietta Spawlding Mk3 Breach Loading Hunting Rifle: chosen weapon of the Society of the Blind Eye, inlaid with gold, stock made of one of the last English Oaks, barrel so perfectly aligned that a perfect shot could consistently take of the wings of a moth from the opposite end of a Great-Peruvian Cruise Barge - this beautiful weapon was given to Thomas by his fiancée before she went off and died. He keeps it in pristine condition and has be known stare down more than just animals through its sights.

Male Type
Thomas' paarents decided to go in for a new fad amongst the rich while he was in the womb -Genetic engineering that was meant to allow him to choose his eventual appearance as he was growing up. However the procedure is was flawwed and thus over the course of a couple of months Thomas can completely alter his physical form to mimic that of another human. He can appear male, female, young or old - all that's needed is a space in which to clear his head and picture what he wants the end result to be. An hour of meditation every day for two moths and you'd hardly recognise him.

Antifeats:

Cowardly
Since he was a young lad Thomas has been scared of heights, small spaces, crowds and spiders. As he increased in age things just got worse. He can't stand the sight of blood (which often causes him to faint) and has a crippling fear of rejection. This has of course never sat at ease with his more thrill-seeking attitudes but somehow he still manages to get up every other day and see if there's anything he can be getting to do.

Only a Man
With all the genetic programming that was involved in his development as a child Thomas is incredibly susceptible to the majority of viruses and virus-like toxins. This is at its worse when he is changing appearance as his immune system becomes almost non-functional. During these times a simple cold could render him bedridden or even dead.

Bio:
Thomas was "born" into a rich human family who had all the power and wealth one could ask for. Of course Thomas was not actually created as a normal baby. A passing fad amongst the nobility at the time involved a strange and decidedly dodgy operation and Thomas was merely the end product. A male-type and decidedly friendly child he began life with every possibly imaginable luxury in the city of New Jerusalem on Hasperia.

Following his education at the University of New Jerusalem he found himself getting a lift on the Grand Peruvian Battle Barge Hephaestus upon which he met a beautiful young woman fresh out of Navy Officer School with whom he became completely infatuated. The journey was a long one and Thomas grew to know her very well. On the last day of the voyage he proposed and she said yes.

He disembarked on the Virvach Orbital where could be found Grand Peruvia, the greatest of the off-world metropolises. Grand Peruvia was famous for its shipmaking. The very rare products of the Grand Peruvian Guild of Engineers were sought after across the expanse of space for being reliable, huge and beautifully effective. The GPGE ships are rare though and many smaller shipbuilders sprung up making Grand Peruvia and by extension Virvach a major shipping point and producer of space faring vehicles. The society is massive and huge in its extremes. The most wealthy live in such decadence as can only be imagined in the wildest dreams of men and the poor form a massive under city ruled by organised crime and the street gangs.

Upon arrival Thomas settled down in a modest upper class dwelling and began to quite enjoy himself. However not all was idyllic and two weeks after arriving he heard that his fiancée had been killed in a small skirmish. A week after that he received a hunting rifle in the post. His grief knew no bounds and he spiralled into depression. Using the knowledge of cards he picked up at University he soon got in with the rough gambling crowds of the lower city.

However in this new life Thomas found a dodgy use for the genetic aberrations he had previously considered a curse. In the undercity killing people subtly was a much lauded profession and he soon began to do it more and more to get the cash for the huge stakes games that were running. He found himself sitting at the table alongside some of the most powerful men in Virvach and of course no one recognised him from his previous life. He was the perfect unknown hitman as he could be a different person every other month.

Will more later
