The Tower of the Intelligence Czar

This thread will cover all intelligence on our four rivals. Areas covered will be SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) based on demographics, map observations and other non-personal data we gather, the other area will be HUMINT (Human Intelligence), covering personal developments within and between the teams.

4000 BC - 3000 BC

The Cavaleiros Chronicles

Capital, "Ohlo Serpentem" founded 3960 BC Population 5. (Turn 30)
"Sombra de Ceu" founded ? BC (Population 1)
with 27 gold and 14 hammers

Buddhism turn 47

Turnplayer: Purpleturtle/Oyzar
Intel-man: Oyzar (Using MSN, archives of past demogames, demographics expert, quite extreme)

Did tech a tech with no prereq, working a 1 commerce tile (propably agriculture)
Now they are likely researching towards their naval techs on the bottom part of the tech tree plus calendar part.

The Mad Scientists Papers

Capital founded 4000 BC
Population 3 (turn 30)
Turnplayer: Tinkerbell/Husch

prioritized early barracks and troops.

Originally, had a 3 commerce desert tile in their BFC and are teching a tech with a pre req... I would bet a religion

The Santa Wishlist

Turnplayer: Memphus

Capital founded 4000 BC
Population: 2 (turn 30)
They are the ones that expanded their land area first via culture, hence their huge land area.

did research mysticism or masonry originally

The Saturn Charts

Capital founded 4000 BC
Population: 4 (turn 30)
Saturn got their 2nd city up too, also with 1 pop.
Turnplayer : Lord Parkin
went fishing first, are now building a workboat by working the 3 hammer tile and are teching a tech that has no pre req (propably mining)

The Turnplayers:

Saturn Turnplayer: Lord Parkin
Age : 21 and single student
Timezone : New Zealand (Like Lord of the Rings)
Claimed Rank : Immortal

Santa Turnplayer: Memphus
Age : 25 and student
Timezone : Canada (Like Jack London)
Claimed Rank : Immortal

Cavaleiros Turnplayer: Purpleturtle
Age : 28 and married professional
Timezone : Kansas (Like Alice in Wonderland)
Claimed Rank : Monarch
Special Angle : Winston Churchill and WW2

Mad Scientists Turnplayer: Tinkerbell
Age : 37
Timezone : Netherlands (Like the Red Light District in Amsterdam)
Claimed Rank : Monarch

Mad Scientists Turnplayer: Husch
Age : 15
Timezone : German (Like the Rote Arme Fraktion)
Estimated Rank : Monarch to Immortal

Team Cavaleiros

Contact made turn 43. Our warrior spotted their work boat.

Purpleturtle seems to call the shots, but not as dominated as Saturn is by Lord Parkin. They got only one MT Demogame "veteran", but seems to have a very competitive team. I know Oyzar, Hoplosternum and a few others from multiplayer pitboss games, and oyzar is really really dedicated, metagame tough and strategically very competent and vicious, a lot of energy in this man. Kuningas has also served on a team as veteran, and is the only "veteran" here.

Mad Scientists

Quite a competent team, with forum moderator Daveshack (which may give them an advantage in case of heated discussions, we need to avoid. Peter Grimes is the only Dual-Victory team member serving outside Team Sancta (both Civ3 MTDG and Civ4 MTDG victories), and the third and the last that have served with General W in both games. Now Daveshack and Petergrimes seems to run this team along with turnplayers as Husch and Tinkerbell.

Chat Infiltrations

Cavaleiros has a way to figure out forests per city, anyone got an idea on where to find the formula for breaking down the landarea? I think it has to be in the land-area department, and Cavaleiros are very strong on analyzing the demographics screen, so we may need a certain feint to remove that access to intel on us, do something surprising.

oyzar sier:
what demographics are you refering to exactly? You can't be that bad off...
Mars sier:
haha, you are rally phishing
really
i told enough
oyzar sier:
you are already size 4
You are already working at least one seafood
it is not possible to have bad demographics with that(compared to the others at least) unless you do something silly like work citizens or something
Heck there really isn't a wide enough spread in demographics to have bad demographics either
GNP ranges between 20 and 22...
crop yeild is between 7 and 13...
(and you guys obviously aren't 7)
MFG does have some variation, but that doesn't matter all that much at this point(though it can't really keep up with chopping either)...
You aren't the 1 mfg either
Mars sier:
yeah, that is a problem, almost no trees
oyzar sier:
so i can't really see why you are complaining about it
almost no trees? certainly you started with at least 6 or so trees, that is not almost nothing by any strech of imagination
um make that 4+ trees
but still it isn't anywhere near almost nothing
noone started with a lot of trees
bah nevermind it is 6+
Mars sier:
what is your reasoning for that?
oyzar sier:
as they say "that is for me to know and you to find out"
Mars sier:
haha
oyzar sier:
anyways in the previous game epsilon didn't anyalize ANYTHING after turn 46, and what analysis they did up to that point was really limited...
so how many posts does your team forum have? certainly you have at least some number of active contributors?
ahh CS slingshots and insanely overpowered cavs, those were the days of vanilla
they all went warrior first lol...
Mars sier:
hmm, is there a formula for calculating forests?
oyzar sier:
how else would i know how many forests you have?
Mars sier:
You missed on the assessment though
but, there has to be a formula
oyzar sier:
you have less than 6 forests? O_o
I mean you started with less than 6 forests?
Mars sier:
less yes
i think the only way to calculate somehow without getting the very screenshot, is in the ranking of land area
I think it is in the land area dept
oyzar sier:
hmm you started with less than 6 forests as well? that doesn't make sense to me...
Mars sier:
so, what is the math?
oyzar sier:
(health - 4)*2 = min forests
Mars sier:
and the health is in life expectancy ratio?

Life Expectancy- Works on the same principle as the approval rate except it deals with health and sickness. The formula is health / health + sickness. At the beginning of the game the default is 30 years. You can see the total for health and sickness of each city in the F1 screen.

we have 850ish post
team 3 have like 2.5K posts...

Um, in [c3c] MTDG 1 I was part of KISS, not MIA.

Any reason for not including [c3c] MTDG 2 team allocations? Just curious.

The Santa Wishlist
Turnplayer: Memphus

Are researching Animal husbandry by working a 1 commerce tile

This is probably wrong as (as of turn 20, 3200BC) they only had a military score of 3000. So they must have teched Mysticism first.

If they have researched another tech it must be Masonry.

Can you update the above with starting techs, known additional techs, and what we think they have too please?

Oyzar told us how to calculate the number of forests in the big fat cross, based on the life expectancy, see the "interview" above.

where does that interview come from then? got a link?

we have 850ish post
team 3 have like 2.5K posts...

2.5k posts o_0

what the hell are they talking about?

oyzar is Cavaleiros intel and analysis guy, and he is very extreme, tries to "phish" stuff out of people via MSN chat and so on. So the best you can do when he begins, is to tell nothing, and to ask for methods when he comes up with specifics. They got most of the developments pinned down the last 28 turns from the demographics. This way, we can also figure out forests, to see if they chop and so on during the first 80 turns or so.

The interview was from my MSN log.

He is also mapping posting history of various forums, he wanted to know how many posts we had so far (told him nothing), he is trying to get as much as possible non-game data in order to build up a picture, asked us about who was our good players etc, but I told him nothing.

I often chat regularly with Oyzar and he has tried to get info from me, but I am not that stupid. I also chat with Emperor, AKA Lord Parkin. I can tell you that he has a girlfriend. Also you forgot that I was part of MIA.

I think we should make Oyzar a "information package" similar to what Heydrich presented the Soviets, when we meet them...

I can tell you that he has a girlfriend.
Aha! so he'll have 50% as much time as he would otherwise for civ!!

I have a wife and baby so I come out at about 20%

Oyzar is married to a Bulgarian lady, now he is celebrating Xmas down there in the Balkans, with bad connectivity.

Upgraded somewhat, as i think what civs got what now.

Btw can you put the list of team members in spoilers to make page a bit shorter, please? I'm often reading on a bberry and it's easier to read. Btw my calcs are wrong as I didn't count warrior soldier points right.

Saturn got a new city, so there is 2 civs with 2 cities, us and them.

Cavaleiros got the biggest city with 5.

Sancta got most land being Dutch.

Finally, Mad Scientists seem to lag behind.
