In the armed robbery/stolen bank account scenario, while the armed robbery would include a short term threat to life, I'd prefer it when thinking long term. In the armed robbery, the robber gets my ATM/debit card, useless to him since he doesn't have my PIN, my credit card, which will be reported stolen and any charges made disputed, and $20 cash. In the stolen bank account scenario, the robber gets 99% of my money and all my future earnings (I use direct deposit).
