You will see how it is so.

    The answer is:

    Spoiler :
a mosquito :) when asleep, if lying with your back to the bed, the mosquito has more area to bite.

    I really hate mosquitos

I slept as kid with my older brother in one room, and he always wanted the window open... but the mosquitos always targetted me and not him.
It took a long time before I had learned to control myself and just have them their bite of my blood and be done with that loathsome sound.

The trick was to pinch your skin when they were in the act. It would push their poison back and the pressure would pop them.

It likely was way too much about diversion. I mean mentioning Satan and something mystically being more dangerous when it can not be behind your back, doesn't make one think of so lowly a creature.

To see one mosquito popping is settling some very old accounts !

I have now mosquito mesh for my windows and when some break through I use the vacuum cleaner (no dirty spots on my walls).

For those nasty very small stinging flies (supersmall gadflies ?) I learned during a summer holiday in Wales, where there were whole clouds of them, going through the mosquito mesh of our tent, that using the flame of a candle goes perfect.
The hot air above the flame to be precise. That boiled their fluids in their wings in no-time. So before sleeping first kill all those flies sitting on the tent cloth !

Here there are too many of them, a mosquito's electric racket or fan sometime is not enough. I used mosquito wire for each door and ventilation around my house, and once in a while when the mosquito start to accumulate inside the house (they enter while you open the door etc etc) I use insect repellent when my children already asleep. So I keep the population down.

The best defense against mosquitoes is a dry climate. Deserts work well. :D

I heard in Sweden they don't have much mosquito also. Maybe I'm wrong, but if we somehow in the future human are more discipline, clean and hygiene; mosquito, roaches and freaking rats maybe extinct.

I think I'm wrong about mosquito in Sweden, I follow a youtuber from Sweden, either he saying he never see flies, fruit flies or mosquito, I forget exactly, but it amused me.

We sterilize too many things already in our hatred of mosquitoes.

Not that there aren't reasons! But still. Graduating from netting and repellent to fogging insecticides and draining natural wet is not necessarily a long term desirable course of action when it comes to planetary stewardship. At least not without limit. The irony isn't lost as I order the private applicators controlled pesticide training manual for licensing purposes.

On a side note of the tangential brain

True, but sandflies suck as well. Or at least bite.
