As some of you know (and all of you are welcome), a warmup game has been running for a few weeks. The idea was to start up a new game, to be played before the commencement of the Demogame proper, to teach us how Civ4 works with the principles of Democracy and distributed decision making.

We're currently on the 80th turn, and playing 10 turns every three days or so. Things are proceeding at a nice pace, everyone having a whale of a time. Unfortunately, there are only three active players at present. This means things are very efficient and we'll carry on going, and post anything we discover, but most options are decided by default because we tend to agree on everything.

There's no dissention, nobody making radical suggestions, no big arguments. So please, head on over and join in! You can grab the latest save and check out the most recent turnset here, (though please just look; don't play the save!) and make suggestions and comments here. Come on and join up! After all, you don't get harmony with everyone singing the same note.

The procedure is very informal - there are no elected officials or instruction threads, and minimal polling. Instead, DPs take responsibility for everything during their session and they are rotated, with everyone else snooping over the most recent save and making suggestions. DPs aren't forced to accept the majority decision, but they are encouraged and expected to take others' viewpoints into account. Think of it as a diet, caffiene-free demogame. If you'd like to DP (and a session as Khan is a great primer for anyone wishing to jump into the proper demogame as an elected official), pop your name down in this thread here. Just let us know when you're available (or unavailable) and we'll add you to the rotation.

As things stand, we (the Mongols) are on the verge of a war with Arabia. It's a Quick game, on a Small Continents map, at Noble. Khan Early Bird IX is poised to take the reins from his predecessor and smite the heathen Saladin about the chops with a wet fish. All that's needed is you.

*Satis - please reduce your sig. It's too long.
