Well, i used the Japanese because they are the best and i played Marla Singer's world map. I started in egypt and i had Persians to the south, Indians to the North, and Zulu to the NE (where the chineese were, i dunno.
I took Persia within the first 2000 years, easy. The game progressed me slowly becomming the greatest nation, controling all of the wonders, great and small, having the largest millitary, controlling all of Africa and Asia except for the Siam area that was controlled by the Zulu, you get the picture. Then in 1950's (AD) I started a town on New Ginea right next to a German settlement. They attacked me and won the town. Then i started another town in New Ginea and won both thier city and mine back.
Because they controlled Australia it was an obvious choice for me to take it over so, i did. The continent of Austalia and the some 12 cities on it were controlled by me and it only took about 20 turns (i controlled it by 1972 AD). The next 63 turns (years) went peacefully then in 2041 the French were being attacked by the English and they asked me to help them. I controled the Kamchacka peninsula already and the English were only 2 squares away in Alaska so, i assembled a large Air fleet of over 23 bombers and 4 fighters and 15 tanks made up my ground units while i had 3 naval transports to carry them. I took the English metropolises of Notttingham, Detroit, Oxford, and London by 2049 AD (in succession).
By 2049 I was ready to discuss peace w/ the English so, i got a peace treaty for evrey English city besides York (thier new capital [there were around 10 of them]) and all i gave was 725 gold per turn. It being the last turn I only paid 725 gold and a one-turn peace treaty for (almost) the whole English empire which encompassed the whole of Canada and the American Southwest.
By the end of the game i controlled all of Africa and Austalia, almost all of Asia and a considerable part of North America. Guess who won. Do you think i used a good tactic at the end of the game? Have you ever done anything like this?
