So we've found out that Germany, Rome, Russia are the favorites, but who is your least favorite?

I choose Mali, too impossible, haven't even done it with them on viceroy.

Well, I'm torn between Ethiopia and Mali.
Well, and I'm sure Mali or Ethiopia will win.

Picked India. No control over completing the UHV.

Read the strategy guide about India. You have to found Judaism first.

So here's a save for you[Monarch]. I've founded Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism and Christianity. DR may seem like a long way away, but in the 500's you get a huge discount towards it, and you will easily found Islam too. Then just get calender, spam cities and grow, grow ,grow.
BTW, I had played this game and lost the population goal to China:(. Will try again now though:)

I think India is one of the easiest UHVs... If you do it correctly. It is annoying that the first three religions are luck though... (Greece will often head for Buddhism...) but once you're over that hump, it becomes a very interesting game... A totally different style of play than any other civ. It really is one of my favorites to play as.

    Ugh. Mali.

I've never managed to finish their UHV, and they are too isolated. You rarely, if ever, need to interact with other civilizations. I find it makes for a frustratingly difficult and largely uninteresting game.

With very little room for decent cities because of the aztec uprising, the race to a crummy wonder that rome likes, and low production they are a strong contestant for last place.

In addition the conquistadors show up in aztec/incan territory even when I find my rivals first and then are hellbent on killing/plaguing me.

    No fun.

Playing in viceroy would bring apocalypse ahead of schedule.

I've just finished Mali[viceroy], but it wasn't that much fun. It is monotonous.

I found it difficult to pick a worst Civ, as running my eye down that list I could think of fun games I have had with almost all of them. I wouldn't regard the question as being UHV based, as I have had many fun games with Civs like Ethiopia, Mali and Maya, though I play more often towards conquest and domination than UHV. One Civ I dont like is japan, as they were the first Civ I played and I would always collapse. However if nowadays I can span the world with Mali then I would probably be able to cope with Japan.

Although the Portuguese UP is useless, their UU is pointless as you need astronomy to trade with your colonies and their UHV is too easy I usually have fun games with them so I would not rate them the worst.

Mali is so bad that its a challenge, but there are good city sites nearby and usually some weakened Europeans to conquer, so my Mali games are usually fun.

I think the worst civ is probably Inca, as you have so long without contact, crap tech and terrible land that I have always been put off playing them. However I am sure in the fullness of time I will endure the boring beginning of an Incan game and then end up settling every mountain range in the world for a global Incan Empire... As you can see many of my RFC games never make it past the daydreaming stage.

Putting Persia and Arabia together? :beurk: You should have put England and the Netherlands together, as those 'play' more similarly than Persia and Arabia.
Anyway, my vote goes for Maya. I don't like having only 20 tiles as historical/core area ;)

I find Ethiopia disappointing because it starts really promising (an alt-history where the center of Christianity is in Africa), but then it's just settler-spamming and hitting End Turn for hours. I only consider Maya as equally unfortunate, but besides those two all others are magnificent.
I don't quite get the hate for Mali, but whatever...

I selected Egypt, because Rhye made it impossible for Egypt to be stable enough to last until the Modern era.

That's a good point, and it's the only civ inherently unstable as far as I could see.

I once got space race victory as Egypt: colonize America, move all troops 2 tiles away right before collapse.
