There should be an easier way to update mods

Since there are no real modpacks yet, I could be running like 10 mods at a time. The mod section in the main menu is awesome but it would be really helpful if the name was red or something for any mod that needs updates, since the only way to check now is to look online for the mod and check if it has been updated. Which takes a while since I dont have just 1 mod

I don't think so I was just browsing the online mods today and noticed one of mine has updated. Had to redownload, install, check it and delete the old one

Don't mods auto-update?

They should not. It would be very bad if they did. It's already bad enough to have the game do that. If I release a new version that I tag as beta after a stable (much like odd numbered versions are often unstable dev versions while even numbers are stable), I wouldn't want players to get the unstable one replace the stable one, nor prevent them from going back to the previous version.

Agreed. But there should be some way of boing that a mod has some sort of update

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that mods auto-update when the update is stable and doesn't break saves.

Oh cool but how exactly does it work? How does it know when the new mod works and does it tell you when and what you were updating? It would be awesome if u could link where u read this
