These Fractured States of America

hey,
it is disabled on the dll,
i can re enable it for you once ill get to your next ver.

its function is to allows a building or a unit only if the city has a resource within its borders, none empire supplies.
That would be great, thanks!

Just a quick update for everyone, I'm still here. Instead of just adding things adhoc when they look interesting, or writing down lots of new ideas, I've taken a step back to do some planning. And while this mod ultimately depends on having some awesome new features, I've decided to refocus on the basics (techs, wonders, buildings, units) first. Since I don't like overstuffed mods, I've also done some benchmarking to figure out how much content other mods put in to avoid going overboard. My initial thoughts on the matter were to have about as many techs/buildings/wonders/etc as a normal BTS game.

Here is my draft list of world wonders that I've been working on. The format is name of the wonder, the year it was built (roughly), what city or area it is in, and finally which Fractured States civ it would be located in. I wanted to get a mix of wonders representing all the various civs involved, but it proved difficult. The list below has 4 from California, 3 from Canada, 4 from the Confederacy, 1 from Deseret (not counting the Mormon shrine), 2 from Mexico, 1 from Texas, 1 from the Yucatan Republic (not yet a civ, but it will be), 6 'international' wonders (like the Panama canal or purchase of Alaska), and 16 from the United States.

That gives me 38 world wonders compared to 35 world wonders in BTS. I'm curious to know people's thoughts on the below list, and anything I'm missing. Thanks!

Oh, and on a personal note I’ve got a brand new baby at home, so my modding time is a bit more limited than normal.

Hi Ozzy, you did a great job picking up a really impressive set of Wonders of the World! I tried to find some more significant buildings, but unfortunately most of the legendary buildings of America belong to the era after the 20s, such as the Golden Gate or the Empire Stade building. Nevertheless, I want to ask, will there be natural wonders of the world in your modification? Like the Grand Canyon or Niagara Falls?

The only wonder of the world I haven't noticed on your list:

Plaza de las Tres Culturas\Plaza de Tlatelolco(1521)-------Mexico city, Mexico
Wright Flyer(1903)

The second thing I wanted to know is, will there be any national buildings? Well, as in an ordinary Civilization, for example, a monument, and in Egypt an obelisk, and The native Americans have a totem? Or maybe some kind of national monument? That is, each nation has its own. For example, you can add a national festival or fair building, and Mexico will replace it with the Day of the Dead. Your modification raises a very interesting historical era, but it could introduce players with some sort of natural beauty of America and culture aspects of those Nations that you are using.

Regarding the baby accept my congratulations on this wonderful event![party]

If I can figure out the code on adding natural wonders then yes, I'm absolutely planning to add them. My hope is that they will provide some balance too between the eastern nations that will start with some pre-built wonders and the west who don't. I hope they'd also be able to provide some benefits to nomadic native american tribes who will be playing a very different style of game.

And yes, I do hope to have unique buildings and national wonders. A few national wonders I'm thinking of so far are an Armory (e.g. Springfield, Harper's Ferry, etc), a Military Academy (e.g. West Point, Virginia Military Academy, etc), National Park, Stock Exchange, National Monument, National Museum, National University (Harvard, McGill, Stanford, etc). A national festival wonder sounds very interesting.

I'm not sure about the Plaza de Tlatelolco, but I was considering the Zócalo, probably with the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral attached.

Well, I just think it's one of Mexico city's iconic places.

What do you think about the Flyer?

By the way, Alaska and Hawaii are just more suited to natural wonders.

Is the First Transcontinental Railroad(1869) on your list ?

I think the flyer is probably best represented with just the flight tech. Maybe a boost for inventing it first.

Alaska and Hawaii are going to be off the map, so natural wonders won’t work. Alaska is purchased from Russia, so I figure that any civ with diplomatic recognition from Russia gets a boost to building it.

Since railroads are a fact on the map, I figured it’d be best to just build the tracks instead of a building off in one city.

Well, on the other hand, if you had an alternate history and the States didn't become United, it's not certain that they would have bought Alaska. I mean, Alaska could be a separate nation.

The word we were saying about the natural wonders of the world, I saw in one modification of the many different natural wonders, so if you want to chat with its Creator, maybe he will tell you how the code is written on these natural wonders of the world. In this same modification I saw Fort barbarians, which spreads on cell barbaric culture, with his hand I've tried build Fort on neutral territory, but I have not emerged culture, but can I that the not so made. So maybe this is the man you can talk to about your idea of a cultural Fort.
