Things you expect to see in DLCs

I feel like the orbital layer will get expanded in some DLC or other. It seems like much more could be done with it. Orbital units other than satellites. Some sort of orbital bombers, maybe even troop transports. Perhaps even orbital cities and cargo spacecraft. Maybe some orbit-exclusive rare materials on meteors or such.

The tech web will likely be expanded. Victories can be rushed so hard right now. I don't know if it was really intended. Expanding the web would not only bring new content, but also slow the victories down.

More affinity specific units seem pretty obvious. My predictions are: Siege Worm riders for Harmony, invisible cyborg ninjas for Supremacy and either a flying carrier or floatstone powered jetpack infantry for Purity.

Obviously more sponsors and seeding options. My feeling is that there will be a Mid-East sponsor and perhaps some non-national entities. Surely other corporations than just ARC got their seeding programs.

Some sort of religion/ideology/culture victory/pressure thingy seems pretty given too.

Scenarios and some map scripts. Maybe even new resource or two.

I want an American Civil War scenario with mechs so I can live out my "Wild Wild West" fantasies.

I hope that they won't waste any time with small one civ and one scenario DLCs or map packs, and instead release one or two proper expansions with new game mechanics.
I would like Great People (but not like in ciV, great scientists with the tech web would be a balance nightmare) or an expanded role for specialists, and an economic system that allows you to make use of bonus resources that goes beyond simple yield bonuses.
Most of all I want real diplomacy that actually gives you a reason to not immediately click other leaders away when they want to talk to you. I want something like research agreements and equivalents for culture and affinity points, I want economic treaties that boost trade income between partners and multilateral treaties for trade blocs or coalitions, and I want a planetary council.

Difficult to see what a dlc could provide that the mod. Community cannot provide. I don't see myself paying 4 euros for another faction, map, etc.

Stuff with is so impactful as to be out of reach of the mod community and be worth the cost would take so much effort that it would likely be an expansion.

That being said, I would like another edge on the tech web, with deeper affinity point results and leader evolution. Ofcourse the victories would have tobe tweaked because at it stands on Apollo it is far to easy for me or the ai to win before taking full advantage of your affinity for a worthwhile length of time.

New sponsors/Civs - alien, robotic, factions from another planet. The game needs variety in the leaders as the current ones are carbon copies of each other - bland.

1.) "Melee" Naval Unit (same way marines are "Melee")
2.) Bombers
3.) Helicopters/VTOL (other than alien drones)
4.) Different types of aliens related to planets (maybe it picks a set to play with on map creation)
5.) More sponsors (allowing for 12 player games)
6.) More diplomacy options
7.) More durable stations.
8.) Larger scale/offensive terraforming options

agreed!

One thing that slipped from my mind in the initial post is natural wonders. They seem the kind of thing that would fit the DLC bill.

More naval units seems kinda likely too. Maybe even affinity specific ones.

I would be very glad, if they reworked the way aliens work and introduce them as a neutral player with own goals. Having to work your way through quests to be able to contact the Hive Mind might be a fantastic opportunity.

It would also give alien AI more consistency, as they could maintain diplomatic relations and uphold their deals.

Moon colonies.

As someone has already noted, Natural Wonders would be a desirable addition for me. I'd also like to see Great People make a return. I miss getting some additional benefit from my specialists.

I think we'll definitely see some major overhaul of stations though. City States were very bland in Civ V, you just threw money at them. Then the quests came along in G&K (I think) and that changed the way we interacted with them.

But these are all OLD features and not necessarily fitting for Civ BE. We may see something completely new like undersea tile development, enhanced and much more dangerous aliens, maybe something along the lines of the 'Legacy of Heorot' or an actual 'Alien'. Or something radically new, like the Tourism and Culture that came with BNW was. These guys can be very creative ;)

I'm hoping for more quest lines. I really like them, but it are very few unfortunately.
Yeah, same here. At the moment, we get to see the same ones too often. A good set of new quest lines and some random events would really increase the game's re-playability.

I'd love to see them flesh out the affinity system a bit more by giving people choices for the affinity benefits. Embrace the RPG paradigm and make them proper skill trees with affinity unlocks that can be taken multiple times.

1) Colonies on other planets
2) More aliens
3) Tereforming
4) More sponcers like antarctica or the moon
5) More affinity units
6) Changed affinity system
7) Changed trade route system
8) Random events
9) Natural wonders-- maybe you need to find naural wonders in order to win

Well, expect != want. ^^

There are so many things I wanna see, including changes to the current game. From the top of my head, the list:

1. Rebalancing of the Tech Web, the best techs are paired with the Purity affinity, this needs to be more balanced
2. Rebalancing of the Quest rewards, many rewards are too powerful
3. Enhancement of the Station system, should be more like the old city state stuff, we need more things to interact with
4. more diplomacy options
5. nukes :king:
6. Natural Wonders, I really miss this feature somehow
7. more impactful World Wonders, the current ones feel bland and just like upgraded normal buildings

The modding community is a better source for new Sponsors, Cargo and such, so Firaxis shouldn't focus on that too much for now.

What bothers me the most about the current Victory Conditions is that the Affinity ones are nothing else than Science Victories. Since there is no diplomacy whatsoever and no cultural contest as well those options are out of the picture anyway. Affinity victories require 13 (I think) levels in one Affinity in order to build the special wonder and reaching that first essentially requires being the Civ with the most research points, it's really that simple. And this sucks. We currently have the choice between essentially 4 x science victory and 1 x domination.

My suggestion would be to include the Affinity resources (Floatstone etc.) into this equation. Theoretically you can always play for Purity victory, since they have arguably the best technologies connected to them and it doesn't matter if you have Floatstone in reach or not. Currently those resources only affect the availability of special buildings and end game military units. It would be a better system if the amount of Affinity related resources which you have would help you on your way to that specific Affinity victory condition by let's say reducing the time for certain stuff to happen or something like that. This way they would really hold a value in the game. Taking them away from another Civ should have an impact on their victory progress, not just on their warfaring capabilities.

In addition, I'd like to see an equivalent to Civ V's Great Wall wonder in Beyond Earth. It would never become obsolete at a certain point in the game, but would be useless against floating end game units or something like that.

We could really need the old system of two air unit types (fighters and bombers) and two naval unit types (melee and ranged) back. Would give us more diversity. In addition, the air units should require resources to build, like petroleum.

Changes to the trade route system are required as well. And I would like to see some alien races making contact. They could work like the old city states for example. There are so many options, but we need something at least.

We need an equivalent to Civ V's FORTS as well. I am really shocked the the Dome improvement doesn't at least provide a unit stationed on it a defensive bonus. It's kinda sad that you even have to waste tiles for this improvement with all the nice alternatives. The improvement is cool, I just don't see the reason to not build something with better yields. Therefore, I'd like to replace it with fortifications from Civ V.

I am really looking forward to some sort of better AI mod like we had in Civ V. The A. I. needs to be more distinctive, aggressive and better at combat.
