Think I can run it

I'll be quick. I checked system requirements lab and it said my processor was too slow to run this game. I've played games below the system requirements before and it's worked out fine then and my processor is only too slow by a .01 points. Do you think that I will be able to play this game? I really am looking forward to it and would hate to have to pass it up over a lousy hundredth of a point.

Thanks in advance for the help.

It could work fine, it could be horrendous.
The only thing I could possible advise you to do is to download and try the demo before actually buying it.

Thats interesting I checked the requirements again and it says that I have 2.0 ghz but it still says I fail. RAM video card and the other assorted requirements are all pass though. Any advice?

If you have a Core 2 Duo, Athlon 64 Dual Core, or any of the Intel ix line (i3, i5, i7) then you should be fine. It simply has to be a true dual core processor. If your checking at some "can I run it" site then the site is probably wrong. There are many on this forum who well exceed the requirements who have failed these tests, they aren't reliable.

You might have a single core CPU. If you look in Control Panel > System, on some versions of Windows it tells you what kind of CPU you have.

You can also bring up Task Manager and look at the Performance tab, to see how many CPU bar charts there are.

Yeah the site messes up for example it tells me this about my cpu:

CPU Speed
Minimum: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 64 2.0 GHz
You Have: 2.40 GHz
Upgrade Suggested: Unfortunately, your CPU Speed does not meet this requirement. Click here to see some recommendations.

I have a C2D E6600, So I know it qualifies ;p

My laptop has a core 2 duo @ 1,67 GHZ (i think it's the P5450). Can U run it said that just my cpu might be a little too slow. So I hope it'll run Civ 5 - what do u think?

the other main question will be, does your laptops graphics card support needed hardware functions needed for the game?

if it does then it might be a bit slow but it should run.

I'd personally try the demo to make sure, but I doubt the game will actually fail to run due the CPU just being a bit under minimum.

The golden rule here: the demo is free. Check that first. :)

I definitely will, since the demo will be released on sept 21st and the retail game will be released on sept 24th - in Germany

I think my video card will do. It's a Geforce 8600M GS.
