Ever since I got my new monitor (1920x1024, hp 21.5 inch) pretty much Saints Row and and Civ 5 have seen a rather obvious and visible decrease in performance (major framerate drop) which pretty much means I think I need to upgrade my graphic card.

ATM I have a AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series,

and I'm thinking of upgrading to GeForce GTX 660 Ti

Problem is I'm wondering if my PC can handle the upgrade, I'm, not one that is really good at PC stuff (sadly...)

All I know is, is that my mortherboard is ASUSTeK Computer INC. (model M5A78L-M/USB3)

I've got 8 GB of RAM and AMD FX 6100 Six-Core Processor (~3.3 GHZ, 6 CPUs)

There shouldn't be any problems, but there's a minor possibility that the 660 ti will overtax you PSU. The PSU's specs would be important for evaluating this.

You might want to consider getting a 7850 1GB instead though. It should be available for not much more than half of what a 660 ti costs. It's much cheaper, yet delivers about 80% of the performance of the 660 ti.

It's more than fast enough for Civ 5, and shouldn't have problems with saint's row either, It draws only marginally more power than your old card, so no potential trouble on this point.
