If you listen to the link you'll know why. A CS player got caught hacking (cheating at the game).

Why you shouldn't hack (feel free to add on)

1) It makes the game boring

2) You never know who's listening

3) If caught no one will believe you when you say you don't hack anymore.

No, hacking is bad because my company's website got hacked and we had to pay about a thousand dollars to get the damn thing fixed. Plus hours of work that could have been spent improving the site.

That is why hacking is bad.

Well, my counter-strike clan match tonight saw us against a team of IRISH hackers...

So obvious, down to the point they started gifting us some round wins near the end.

In the warmup they sucked and then as soon as the game start they turn into god, except for 1 of them, who is probably ignorant of the fact that his team mates are scummy hackers.

Hacking is illegal anyway, I never do it, and don't even have the knowledge too (not that i'd ever want it). Hackers don't care about the damage they cause.

I would never hack anyone/thing that in which it would have any repercutions (sp). Ie, i would never try to hack CfC or any organisation. I have nothing against doing it to friends though :mischief:
As for playing games, it just defeats the purpose if you try to cheat in any way. It damages your credebility, and if you have to cheat to win, then you must be pretty low...

I'll never understand how some people can actually derive pleasure from receiving honor and recognition for something they did not earn. This includes grades, plagiarism, cheating in games, etc. There is absolutely no honor or dignity in the act of deception.

Hacking as a whole is not illegal, and many hackers don't cause damage. What you are thinking of is people hacking into coprate computers because that is what movies and the media have made society believe.

The truth is there are many types of hacking. And most of it is very boring. Not high intesity like in the movies.

For instance, the most recent hack I did. I am playing a video game that has a "quick save" and "quick load". It saved only two games before writting over them. I wanted to increase this to 5. That way I could quicksave four times and still have my original. Not quite what the average person thinks of when they picture hacking is it? But its hacking.

BTW, I am not defending the actions of people who cheat in games by hacking, or go into corprate computers. That is wrong. I am just saying not ALL hacking is bad. Don't get into that mindset.

It takes a lot to convince people that all hackers are not bad, just a minority hell bent on destruction.

It only takes a few to make people assume that they are all bad.

That kid what an idiot, you never know who you are talking to over the net.

Now, there is no need to call people idiots. Play nice.

So what else am I supposed to call someone who brags about stuff on the net, without thinking who else might be listening?

"Intellectually Challenged?", "In the wrong queue when the brains were handed out?" :D

I prefer the term "nerd."

More semantics: ;)

Nerd
: an unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept person; especially : one slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits

also, often unwashed and hairy. :D
