And maybe an open beta for the second expansion so the devs can interact with feedback from the community.
Or additional modding tools, like a Scenario Generator?

You are right. So, I guess the surprise is a let's play of XCOM2?
Oh well, we shall see soon enough.
More than likely more xcom2 stuff given how the game launches early next year.
I'd like more civ news but as Rykia said, Civ6 would probabaly get announced at something like firaxicon and xcom2 seems to be the only other game on the table that we know to be due out soon.
And considering Civ 6 should be on track for release next year on the 25th anniversary BE goes bak to the third wheel it always was. I don't even expect another patch but it might happen. A 2nd expansion pack makes little sense next year. Civ 6 will probably be release in Oct.-Nov. and X-com is coming in Feb. so only a summer release is possibe. Seems too short a time for a project that I can't see getting any budget considering the meh response to RT. I consider BE 2 more likely than another expansion.l Also even if there is an expansion coming it is WAY too early to talk about it. The only Be news that might have ome out was a big patch reveal to drive holiday sales. But that would imply a team of more than 6 people on BE.
I expect another patch and hope there will be another expansion, but if Civ6 does come out on the 25th anniversary... well, that's the end of Civ:BERT development.. but I hope I'm wrong.

Quill18 has some Xcom2 gameplay since a couple hours ago dont know if related.
Pretty excited by that game.

I've never really gotten into the XCOM series. But I have to say, XCOM2 might just pull me in. The game looks fantastic.
As a fan of Xcom EU/ EW, from what I've seen Xcom 2 seems to address a lot of the shortcomings of the original game.
Instead of immersion breaking gameplay focused on not activating pods, we can now plan attacks from concealment.
The general tech and base systems seem far more interesting, and missions look like they will be chosen proactively rather than the dull reaction choose from a list system.
Overall I'm pretty hyped for it.
The ability to get so close to the enemy without being spotted feels a little weird, especially in comparison to previous gameplay. And the possibility of enemy reinforcements being dropped right into the middle of your formation feels awfully random.
But overall it does look very good. The gear and weapon attachment options look excellent, and I like that it appears that you can do serious damage with the default weapons. The new combat mechanics such as armor look good.
The class with the drone robot seems awfully good... maybe too good.
