This took me away from Civ 7

Lets face it, XCOM Enemy Unknown is a classic.
Back when Firaxis made good games eh?

Took a break from Civilization 7. Frankly its become rather boring for me. Especially in the late game.

Anyway, although I have had Xcom Enemy Unknown on my Steam account for years. I did have problems with the game on Steam recently.
Xcom, being an old game has problems with super wide screen resolutions. I play at 3440 x 1440, and trying to play at that resolution resulted in mouse pointer issues.
Anyway, I had heard that the GOG version of the game may be more stable. It came up for sale dead cheaply, so I bought the complete pack on GOG for peanuts.

As it happened, I still had mouse pointer issues with 3440 x 1440 resolution. But dropping down to 2560 x 1440 was more stable with not much mouse issues. However, I did have some issues when throwing grenades.

Anyway, this was my progress after completing a full play through on the GOG version.
47% achievements in one play through. Not bad.

So, this is what's taken me away from Civ 7 at the moment.
Now to try it with Xcom 2 lol.

Oh and if anybody can fix the mouse issues, please let me know?

I still play XCOM 2 regularly. It's a fun, highly repayable game. My current game is using the crew of The Expanse for my squad.

James "Cap" Holden - Specialist
Naomi "Boss" Nagata - Specialist
Timothy "Amos" Burton - Ranger
Alex "Tex" Kamal - Sharpshooter
Bobbie "Gunny" Draper - Grenadier
Clarissa "Peaches" Mao - PSI Operative

I use all the Star Trek character pool and voice mods. Makes Xcom 2 much better.

I want to replay now too. I'm not really interested in a Star Trek or The Expanse mod, but what other mods do you folks run?
Sorry for the late reply. I was at work yesterday until 10pm.

Here is a list of the mods I use:

All Soldiers Gain XP - Legacy
All Soldiers Gain XP - WotC
Capnbuds Accessories WotC
Capnbuds Accessories No Expansion
More Clothes Options
More Skin Colours
More Supplies - WotC & Vanilla
Slower Avatar Project Progression
Star Trek DS9 Character Pool & Voice Pack
Star Trek DS9 Voicepack
Star Trek TNG Character Pool
Star Trek TNG Voicepack
Star Trek Voyager Voicepack Legacy / WotC
Stop Wasting My Time Legacy
Stop Wasting My Time WotC
SW Alien Head Pack 04 Scum and Villainy (Legacy)
SW Alien Head Pack Extra Base Heads (Legacy)

I also sometimes play with these two:

Aliens Character Pool
Predator Character Pool

XCom was a fun remake and I still love them both. The sequel is still my favorite and I actually still haven't beaten it yet. Most mods I run are cosmetic like more face paints and camo, plus some UI ones like better drop ship stats and lifetime stats. The only gameplay mod I run is true concealment. I usually codename with Superhero names if I customize to a theme with my troops but it is often all over the place based on the playthrough and the soldier abilities.

Me too lol.
I have nearly 170 hours played in XCOM 2 and still haven't finished one full play through.
For some reason, I keep starting again lol.

XCom 2 actually forces me to admit defeat. I do dilly-dally sometimes and the Avatar project gets away from me. But I have also played a lot of Ironman mode and a big party wipe (or worse, 2) can really sink your game. All my restarts are because something went wrong, terribly wrong. I love it though!

I could change the difficulty if I wanted to win, but I do it for the sport!
