A thread about Iraq that isn't negative!

I didn't do it! I swear!

Well, I do believe that anyone that does deny that US troops have done some good things in Iraq or Afghanistan have either been blinded by rage or have had their heads up their asses.

Good that you have a picture of the soldiers trying to teach some of them good old AMERICAN football!

Although, all these pictures are taking one hell of a long time to load.....stupid 56K.

Straight from the army website, apparently.... ah no, some are from CBS as well.

Anyway, I applaud this thread and its purpose! :goodjob:

However, let's remember not to forget the 10,000 "other" Iraqis, the ones not playing Frisbee with well-shaved soldiers, because I doubt the moderators are going to allow us to open a thread with pictures of them any time soon.

There is more reason for that animosity than mere jealousy.

Although in certain countries jealousy DOES play an important role... how gauling! :cringe: bad pun

Standard army tactic: "If you don't pose to make us look good we will shoot you."

It's propaganda plain and simple.

It's propaganda plain and simple.

And most of the other news coming out of Iraq isn't?

Is it that hard for you to admit that the US is capable of doing something good?

You'll get propaganda on both sides....you just have to figure out where the actual situation is.

Speedo, my problem is not whether or not the USA is doing some good, my problem is that for self-centred, partisan and delusional reasons, the President is unwilling to take on his responsibilities as commander in chief to admit that the good that is being done is threatened as long as the Administration pretends that having 5% of the population arm itself to destabilize the other 95% is a success.

There's a war on - a war his advisors didn't believe would happen, and so didn't plan to win. He should admit it, and get to work, leading instead of hiding, identifying problems and solving them instead of pretending that everything's been perfect all along - precisely to make sure that all those smiling faces up above keep smiling for years into the future.

we have done good things, like teach them real(American) Football. but that doesn't outweigh the cost of war.

Isn't that for them to decide in the long run? Wait 5 years and ask the average Iraqi if he/she thinks the war was the right thing to do.

I don't argue with the problems in Iraq, nor the failings of Bush & Co that led to some of them. I'm just tired of hearing nothing but headlines like:
"x soldiers killed yesterday"
"Attack on X, X people killed"
"All Iraqis want Americans dead"
and etc coming out of Iraq.

Don't you like facts. Censorship is wrong and BTW 9 soldiers have died per week since "mission accomplished"

Don't you like facts? Americans have and are doing good in Iraq.

edit: And I'd love to know where you got any ideas about censorship from that post.

Multiple American soliers dying every day, Worldwide hatred of the American Government, More innocents killed than enemies but some oil gained.

Doesn't sound "good" to me.
