just a list of DLC ideas that Firaxis could add that i think would sell well.

1. Viking and Anglo-Saxon conflict : adds Alfred the great, anglo saxons (Anglia)(antiquity or exploration ) and a viking civilization (antiquity or exploration,). civ mechanics could focus on feudalism for anglo saxons (influence, food/growth). Vikings could focus on trade, raiding , warmongering. viking leader could be Harold bluetooth.

2. Edo Japan/shogunate. this one is so obvious i cannot not list it here.

3.italy (exploration). italy as an exploration age civ is a no brainer. machiavelli is already in. they could focus on culture/trade/science. renaissance italy would sell very well and be a great connection to rome.

4.crusader states: the crusader states would be a best seller. people would love to play medieval knights that focus on expanding to distant lands and it fits with the religious theme very well. richard the lionheart AND add saladin as a leader with egyptian dynasty as a package deal.

curious to see what DLC you suggest to Firaxis. what are your thoughts?

If past performance is any indicator, Joseon Korea would be instant success from sales.

More leaders named Caesar or Pharaoh.

Any leaders that are dudes wearing armor.

Lithuania/Poland exploration era

Dutch exploration era.

I would love if we got Venice (or Tuscany) as an Exploration Age Civ with a Modern Italy Civ for a full Italian peninsula path.

I'm not certain what leaders would result in guaranteed sales, but here are some big names I could see Civ players buying for:
  1. Abraham Lincoln
  2. Alexander the Great
  3. Attila
  4. Otto Von Bismarck
  5. Blackbeard, funnily enough
  6. Boudicca
  7. Chandragupta
  8. Dido
  9. Eleanor of Aquitane
  10. Elizabeth I
  11. Genghis Khan (who is already coming)
  12. Gandhi, obviously
  13. Hannibal
  14. Joan of Arc
  15. Montezuma
  16. Sejong the Great
  17. Shaka
  18. Sitting Bull
  19. Vlad Tepes
  20. William the Conqueror
  21. Wu Zetian
  22. Zenobia
Many of these are really just Civ veterans, but returning Civ players make up a rather substantial portion of the DLC consumer base, I would assume, and I've seen some people absolutely pining for these names.

really hoping we can get a full italy path. so many great leader options too. i think certain Popes could make excellent leaders and would be a nod to the vatican which is so central to the history of rome with the papal states.

that definitely makes sense. any leaders that already have pedigree will obviously be good choices.

i almost would rather have attila than ghengis. so iconic.

i thought of another one. I think a Habsburg Austria is a must. they could have an effect with alliances or getting independent powers to join like in civ 5. the question is modern or exploration... also Charles V as a leader is a must at this point.

A good number of any guesses are likely to be part of an expansion or the DLC thereafter (I think we all assume they're going to continue with the expansion model). Of course any civ or leader could theoretically benefit from expansion mechanics so maybe there's no reason to separate those guesses, but if the timing of an expansion is similar to Civ 6, we probably get 2 more DLC (2x 4 civs and leaders) before the release of what would be 2.0

I like civ7, but I don't feel the need to buy any DLC especially if the only content is 2 leaders and 4 civs and associated wonders.

I think that the Aztecs are a no-brainer, they're one of the few Civilizations that helps tie together a non-Europe region that also has a huge pop culture presence and a strong history in the series. Aztec+Montezuma could probably push copies of whatever its sold with, though I think that putting it with Nazca and Brazil or Columbia would make for a cohesive theme of filling out the patches in the Americas (and Brazil could probably do numbers itself). That leaves one Leader and one Civilization that could be pretty much anything... insert your own personal out-there hopes here!

A "classic" mode without eras or mandatory civ switching would send sales through the roof. Instantly back to the top of the Steam bestseller list. Tough to do with the current foundation though. Mods will make it happen at some point.

Friendly reminder that the Civ VI initial DLCs had 1 civ+leader each. And the very first DLC didn't even have that, iirc. And from the discussion I remember surrounding those DLCs, Civ V first-year DLCs provided even less content.

Also I'm pretty sure the game is there already?

1. I had the same idea. I like the idea of the Anglo-Saxons starting out with exploration tier yield buildings that break down over time, where the vikings are all antiquity age with some combat and raiding bonuses.
2. I have a huge Edo concept that makes it a "weird" civ with a closed country dynamic.
3. LOVE this. Italy during exploration should treat the Levant/Egypt/N.Africa as distant lands.
4. This is a great idea for a in media res scenario with messy territories, alliances, tons of existing armies, and army commanders that just spawn in depending on influence and victory path objectives. I love the idea of pulling off an objective and troops just show up.

Hello Civ 7 Fans - As a veteran player from Civ 1 to present with Founder's Edition, I have always wanted more Native American Civ's. I think it's great Firaxis got Tecumseh and the Shawnee into the game. Would like to see the Cherokee, Sioux, Navajo, Apache and Pueblo nations included more so than other well known leaders of countries which we have seen repeated over and over again in Civ 1-6. I don't see this ever happening however !!
