Three Kingdom - the chaos in mainland

The Han Dynasty is weakening everyday, and warlords are preparing to take over. Some is quite successful, while some die miserably. Now, a war between Cao and Yuen is going to start... In the history, despite having a larger army, Yuen lose and Cao successfully unite the north.

Factions:
Yuan (brown): After uniting the north, his attention now turns into south: Cao. With largest standing army, they are eager to reach the capital for the emperor. (11 cities and a large army, easy)

Cao (yellow): After few battles, Cao finally settle the middle land. However, he is still weaker than Yeun and surrounded by enemy. (5 cities with moderate army and surrounded by enemy, medium)

Liu Bei (Dark green): Just defect from Yeun, he found a little city as his base to satrt everything again. Will he success even little room to expansion? (1 city with a good army but surrounded by everyone, extremely hard)

Sun (blue): Uniting the east, the Sun now has a large amount of land, but the military is not as good as the other. However, maybe Sun can co-operate with Yuen to attack Cao (9 cities, not too good army, medium)

Liu Biao (light green): Sitting in his land, he has no desire to attack other. His land is has high strategic value, and it is probe for attack. (8 cities in the middle with a very bad army, hard)

Liu Zheng (red): Protected by mountains in the west, he is not that aggresive to other. (5 cities in mountain area, bad army, hard)

Ma (pink): For years, the Ma family protect Han Dynasty from the invasion of Hun and other tribe. They are far from the mainland. (3 cities with ok army, next to 2 clans with pwoerful Raiders, hard)

Tou (light purple): Tou is sent by the emperor to the south. With the chaos in the mainland, very few people remember Tou and it maybe a chance for him. (7 cities with bad army but good gerographic lcoation, medium)

Note: All the minor clan have less cultural value and fewer science/money
Nam Man (cyan): The tribe in the south. (5 cities with a bad army but weak neighbor, medium)

Site (green): The tribe in the south east (10 cities with a bad army, medium)

Hun (purple): The tribe in the north west (4 cities far away from action with pwoerful Raiders, medium)

Wu (white): The tribe in the north (4 cities with pwoerful raiders but next to Yuan, hard)

hmm... all the cities are by modern name, the capitals arent in the right places, the leaders arent named... You have quite a ways to go before this becomes a true three kingdoms scenario. Have you read the books?

the books is in Chinese, I have about 0 idea about the english name for each city/leader.

I never play any English version of 3 kingdom game, so I don't really know... if anyone can give me some more resource, please

and capital is not correct? I thought those are fine.. can you tell me which is wrong?

good job!
hey how come the Hun are in game?

so... ypu have never read the book and you have never palyed any of the games... how do you even know what happened during the three kingdoms? You read a history book?

The Novel can be found in a few languages. If all else fails go to www.threekingdoms.com which has the entire book there. To buy it is very costly and very rare outside of the region (China, Japan, Korea, etc.) But believe me, its one hell of a book.

BTW, nice scenario. I like the addition of the Huns so I can whoop on some Chinese with one of the greatest "barbarians" of all time. I would call them a civilization, but they were barbarians, too most people anyways.

I dunno why Hun is there. Historically North Hun migrated to Europe while the South Hun migrated to China sometiems earlier. I was actually trying to add another tribe thatshould be in the west of Ma. However teh west of Ma is just desert so I just move it to the north, and call it Hun. Just assume that "Hun sees the chaos in China and choose to return to mainland to revenge...

I was trying to change some city name and leader name, but the civ editor crash after I add like 20 leaders.. changing city name is very difficult, as the modern map does not agree to the ancient map which then does not agrree to the game map. Many city placement is simply wrong because a) I dont want city to share tile and b) I don't want any gap between civ and c) the map is not that accurate.

update:

Correct some spelling mistake
Change come city name to the ancient name
Add leaders for a few of the civ.

some more change added...
any feedback? I never thought there is such a low demand on 3 kingdom scenario

You use this map? I think the Yangtze river is in the wrong place, personally I have also try to make a real three kingdoms game, and try to get the english name of the cities, but then the huanghe and the Yangtze river is not in the real scale in a real chinese map, and i am too lazy to redo all the techs.
Also i was looking for the cities name in english at that time
But then using the 3 asian leaders head - korea, china and japan, to represent the 3 kingdoms, some tougher and more aggresive barbarians, to make the game more playable

if it was me, I would just use the chinese names for the scenario.

BTW, I looked at the new version. Still the bulk of cities have modern names and some highly important cities (that have the same name as today) are not included (Luoyang, XuChang, etc.)

I have Luo Yang, but where is Xu Chang? Is it the one near He Fei? If so I will just change the name there... I just think He Fei is more accurate on that map. I don't want to crowd city together and make them share tiles.

oops I just figure out my mistake... I forget to click the radio button for upload new file....

most city is in ancient name now, some still in modern name is becuz I cant find them. usually those are city for minor clans/tribes which does not really appear in map in that age. (I guess no one really know what city Huns live!)

Update

Reduce Yuan military by a bit

Arrow Tower now require Engineering, no defense and cost 70
Assasin now cost 60 and require Feudalism
Mercernary now cost 45
Knight, Raider, Rider, Samurai all cost 70
Beserk, Mountain warrior cost 50 with defense of 3
Swordman with a defense of 2
Longbow man with a defense of 2
Pikeman now cost 35
Spearman now cost 25

If youre concened about map cramming, id want to use a bigger map. Also how are the great naval battles going to be represented? How can i conduct Chi Bi (Red Cliffs) when the Chang Jiang River is not truly represented?

I have the Three Kingdoms books in English, and have played several (non civ) games about the period. So far, I havent found a civ version worth playing through. Only reason I havent bothered to do something like this is because I am very busy with school and do not have the time to spare making a map, placing units, agonizing over balance, etc; however, I could work on the Civlopedia and City names in my spare time if you want. I have a very good grasp of the Chinese military texts of the period, and have read T'ai Kung's Six Secret Teachings, The Methods of the Ssu-ma, Sun Tzu's Art of War, Wu-Tzu, Wei Liao-Tzu, The Three Strategies of Huang Shih-Kung, the Questions and Replies Between T'ang T'ai-tsung and Li Wei-Kung, and the Tao Te Ching. I have also completed a chinese history course, but sadly cannot read Chinese. I have read a little of the modern chinese stuff, but thats not much help in this period. Up to you if you want help, but remember that I would be glad to! And yes, I do feel that for something like this a resume of sorts is important.

And sarevok, you need to lay off. He is trying, and at least he aint being a jerk. Its ok to be a perfectionist, but its not ok to jump on people for stuff they cant control, or simple mistakes, or language barriers.
