Ti-83 games

I cant seem to use games once i put em on my calculator i downloaded mirage 05 and ion and when i download it i go into programs and select the game and it says syntax

Are you sure that you have the correct calculator? Some programs only work for TI-83+, as APPS if I remember correctly. Maybe you could also find a better suited forum for this question than CFC.

Although it is an odd first post, you are welcome to CFC however.

The format has to be .8xp for a Ti-83+ or .83p for a Ti-83 calculator or else it won't work.

Also, Mirage is the work of the devil - go with Ion. It's a lot smaller and works just as well for most games. I have only ONE game as of yet that doesn't work in Ion.

You also have to load the game from Mirage or Ion, not from the program list.

Calculator games are evil. Seriously, I couldn't do my math homework for more than five minutes before finding myself playing those awful things. Eventually, I managed to gain a temporary self-control and deleted them all, and I have been living happily ever since (calculator-wise, that is)

The few TI-83+ games I've played have been pretty boring, so now we usually spend all math lessons playing tic tac toe instead (the never-ending type, whatever it's called). We even keep track of the scores...
