Hey all. Been lurking here, but never had occasion to post before, but I've got a question. How does the game resolve ties? I've been playing multiplayer with a small circle of friends, and this seems to happen to us all the time. Two players will complete a wonder at the same time. How does the game decide who gets the wonder? Or we'll do a map trade that results in both players getting 'circumnavigation' at the same time (when you think about it, this is guaranteed to happen whenever ANYONE map-trades their way to circumnavigation). How does the game decide who gets the +1 speed and who's an 'also-ran'? Or if two people discover liberalism on the same turn? Or Music? Etc? We haven't been able to spot a pattern amongst ourselves, yet.

In single play, there is a sequence in player turns. You get to be the first (I think) so basically the AI turns after you press the shiny button, are the same turn as yours. The determining factor if there is a draw is the turn-order.

I haven't played any MP, but as the game is built on MP from the start I guess this should work the same as in SP. So determine the play-order (I think from the setup screen) and you can check if this all makes sense :crazyeye:

The game is turn based, and there are no ties. Even simultaneous MP is turn based - you can move units, and give orders simultaneously, but the turns will be processed non-simultaneously (Applying hammers to build, beakers to research, etc.).

If two Players would finish a wonder on the same turn, the one who's turn is processed fist will get it.

In SP and all but Simultaneous MP, the turns are processed in order they appear in the roster. In case of teams in order of team numbers.

In simultaneous MP the order turns are processed will be shuffled on every turn.

There is a special case with tech's: If you bulb a tech or pop it from a hut - you get the benefit (Religion, Great Person, Free Tech) the moment you aquire a tech. Otherwise ( for tech's researched normaly from beakers ) it works as described above.
