Hi all,

I have a group of about 9-10 friends interested in playing a LAN Civ 4 BtS game in a single day.

I was wondering what settings you all have found to be reasonable to complete a team multiplayer game (3v3v3, most likely) in about 8-10 hours with that number of people (including cpu processing time, etc). Keep in mind, none of us have played multiplayer in the past, so everyone would like to keep things as close to single player as possible.

Requirements include:
Quick game (330 turns I believe?!)
Start in Ancient Era
Map size snug, but not really tight (4-5 cities per person before all open room runs out)

I really appreciate your help! Thanks in advance!

Inland seas make good team games and are most popular online for teamers, to suggest one map type. With 9-10 players, go for a standard sized map, perhaps with low sea level.

8-10 hours is a lot for a quick game. Most multiplayer games are practically over in the rennaissance, taking about 4 hours max. Allthough with more peaceful players it can last longer.

Disabling tech trading is popular online, but it may or may not be fun on your lan party, your call.

well if you wanna play the game in one day. dont choose a continent map. because it takes a lot of time before you can sail the ocean.
