okay so i have 2 corporations sushi inc and creative construction

but how can i stop loosing money of them ?
the damn un made every one have environment ''ism''

and i know i can spread it to the foreigners but then they too will have
exstra food and production and culture thing-e

and that african guy named shaka or some thing is attacking every one
and winning!

(playing at chieftain- or something)

and a nother question , wen the corporations say like
''+0.15 food per resource consumed'' what do they mean ?
does it mean i have to buy those resource or spread the corporation
to the city that has one ? and why is every one attacking me ?!
i shear my tec's with them and they just attack me in return and command more !

i just cant handle the stress of my nation its just to much! wen will the stress go down!!?

Well environmentalism sucks first off.

What a corp does is it converts a resource into food or hammers at a rate or whatever. And sushi gives it at a rate of .15 food per resource consumed as it said :p

And to reduce cost there are a couple things you can do. Your corporation has a headquarters in a city(the corp headquarters.) What you can do is build Gold multiplying buildings such as grocers, markets, banks, and I almost always build Wall Street in my corp city(unless I only built corp for AI denial and have no intention of spreading, but even then I usually put the corp in my wall street city not the other way around, so I digress). Also you can cut the effectiveness of your own corp by selling off some of your excess resources. And your effectiveness of your corp is not city to city basis, it is based on the resources your civ has access to.

And Shaka does like to warmonger, you should probably read some tutorials on diplomacy and other aspects of the game here judging by your report. Civ is a bit overwhelming at first, but if you stick with it it can be fun :)

I started playing Civ 2 and got discouraged, but my friend talked me into trying Civ 3 and I have been hooked again since.

oh no! why did i not thing of that :( i have build the wall street wonder in a nother city :(

Make sure to follow the general corp money guidelines, build in Wall Street and build plenty of courthouses, but the main thing to remember is that with corporations you will be trading money into useful things like food, culture, hammers, etc. (depending on corp)

The more resources your corp obtains (they count duplicate resources, so trade for all the fish/crab/clams/etc you can) the more expensive the corp will become, but the more powerful your cities will be. It's certainly worth the trade-off if you can spread it to all your cities.

As in all things civ, make sure you have a plan for what you are doing. For some plans, corporations may not be worth the loss of $ and the micromanaging of execs.

I'm willing to take a net loss of a few coins here or there to get sometimes +5 food in a city.

But in general, if you're in free market and have your corp HQ in your wall street city, then you should roughly break even. Being in environmentalism hurts, and not having your corp HQ in your wall street city is probably the biggest problem.

One thing you can do is spread it to an AI that you really don't care gets the boost. So, some fun stuff is spreading Sid's Sushi to someone who's almost entirely inland - they won't really get a benefit from it, and you're still going to get the +4 coins a turn in your HQ.

Never ever even THINK about putting a corp HQ in a city that doesn't have Wall Street (unless it will have it soon!) If that city is also your cap/fp/v, so much the better.

Stay in Free Market.

Build courthouses, pretty much everywhere.

If you have a lot of river tiles but not a lot of resources, consider going State Property instead. If it's the reverse (lots of resources, not a lot of river tiles), corps and FM are probably your better bet, in spite of what appear to be some extra costs.

A few things:
1. You can build export only corps outside of WS. AlCo is classic this way. Domesticly you run Mining/Sushi; you give the AIs AlCo which they pay in to you and get paltry science in return.
2. Adopting enviro isn't always bad. Sometimes it pays more to nerf the AI while nerfing yourself. For example if you are having trouble sewing up the UN victory you can vote the AI out of SP; watch them starve down; and then get a pop differential to win. If the AI is using SP heavily or is using more expensive corps than you you come out "ahead" by spiting everyone.
3. CivJ pretty much always makes you money, found that if you aren't going to run Mining if at all possible.

You need to build more troops. Only the craziest leaders (Aztecs) will attack you if you have more and better troops than they do. Next time, way before you get to the point in the game when corporations are available, find a nice city with good production and decent food and make it your "unit pump". In other words, farm the corn, irrigate the other flat tiles, mine the hills, build a monument, granary, barracks, troops, forge, troops, Heroic Epic, troops, aqueduct, troops, factory, troops. You might need to add in more health or happiness buildings like certainly a Harbor if possible, and maybe a Grocer or Market if you have bad health or happiness problems. Even a hospital might be needed late in the game. Other than that, don't build anything but troops in that city. No library. No Bank. No monasteries, temples or wonders. Just troops and buildings that will allow you to build more troops.

It is amazing how much of a difference this will make in the outcome of your game.
