Hey guess what! It's the holiday season, the season of being nice to one another! But the season doesn't last forever. Do you go out of your way to make someone else's day brighter? Smile at a stranger? Spend the day with a friend because they needed emotional support? Helped an old lady take her groceries to her car if she was having a difficult time?

Not really. Although I always try to be nicer to certain kids in school but I always end up failing because they prove again and again how much they get on my nerves.

I generally try to help my friends regardless of the season. And I never go out of my way to help old ladies; I don't look like the sort of person you'd want to trust with your stuff if you didn't know me, especially if you were a helpless old lady.

Same here. Of course, I still hang around them for some of their cute friends ;)

The kids I am referring to have neither cute friends, nor ugly friends, nor any friends at all. They just follow me around.

May I suggest violence?

To answer the question:
I don't do such things because it is the season for it, and that even in a religion I don't belong to.

I'd either do those things all the time or never. I don't smile to strangest and occasionally do the other things.

I don't. In fact, I'm considering going out of my way to be an arse just to make sure everything is balanced. ;)
Bah humbug. :)

Well I spent 3 hours this morning collecting money for charity in the cold and rain, and will probably do that twice more before the end of the holidays, does that count? :)

The Christmas season doesn't make me any jollier than any other time of the year. I try to be as courteous and nice to others as I can year-round, but hey, no one's perfect. Though, I wouldn't go too far out of my way for a stranger. Only a friend or acquantance.

Not unless the person I would be helping had already helped me.

i might toss a dollar into that anoying bell ringers bucket, or to some charity our school is try to help, but other than that i don't do much at all. If there was one thing i could change about the holidays it would be the music, christmas music sucks, and i would like to not have to pretend to believe in Santa for the little kids.
