Paul I (of Russia, I assume) was a pre-López candidate for the López award for diplomatic incompetence. When he died, Russia was at war with both Napoleon's France and Pitt's England, which was quite a trick. I'm not sure if I would rank Anna worse than the other two. Peter III was pretty spectacular for such a short reign.

I left out Charles VI of France and Henry VI of England although they were disasters because they were insane for much of their reigns and a lot of the disasters were due to their regents. On the other hand, I hold Ivan the Terrible responsible for the catastrophes of his reign.

I put Anna there for doing the one thing she shouldn't have done, trying to mess with the military. Peter III for the same reason. Ivan the Terrible did many good things for the country, but his psychoness did lead to bad, and a dead son, which destroyed Russia for years, but they recovered.

Edward VI of England was also pretty bad, come to think of it. Super anti-Catholic persecutions, economic depression, the loss of Scotland, diplomatic downturn with France, etc.

If you're going to put someone based on racism, better put every President to Johnson on there. Unless we want to base this on various forms of discrimination.

Hitler was hardly an incompetent leader. Despite his atrocities he did get Germany to recover from post WWI limitation. After 1942 he did get a bit crazy.
    Can't say much there.

Simply being racist doesn't make you a bad leader.
WTF?!?! How has John Howard been a bad PM. He was certainly better than average (second longest serving PM of Australia). The IR laws may not have been popular he has matured Australia politically. We are now far more invovled in World matters, than before, for the better
    Can't say much either.

What do you expect from a guy that was President from March 4, 1841 to his death on April 4, 1841?

Just because one doesn't like John Howard I wouldn't rate him as a bad leader. Its not like he left a shambles behind him.

For the leader that screwed up his country the most, that would be Pol Pot. He was trying to turn Cambodia into an agricultural utopia. Well, that wasn't bad thinking really, but killing surplus people will catch up with you eventually, like Vietnam invading you for example.

Yeah, he killed a quarter of the population in four years. And he killed the people that would've improved the country; teachers, doctors, professionals, anyone with a degree etc...

For worst leaders in the US, Harding takes it hands down. Bush is in the mid-lower tier(as is his dad) but not in the very bottom.

Nero was a pretty crappy leader.

As for the successors of Cyrus, most of them were ok, not great, but ok. Thats why the Empire lasted as long as it did. Darius I was actually pretty good.

Darius III wasn't bad either. He was actually a pretty decent military leader. Unfortunately, he just happened to run up against one of the greatest military leaders ever known to man.
