How does the color scheme look on the map when near Arabia?

The Wetu does actually have the same coastal requirement that the Lighthouse does.

Although historically wetus were used both coastally and inland, I opted to emphasize them as a coastal building for purposes of synergy.

Hm,
I guess Wampanoag could be enhanced with several minor additions.
1) +2 :c5culture: from fishing instead of great writer points
2) work of writing/art spot in wetus and dropping the coastal requirement.

This would influence your strategy as you would want to make your settlements coastal for that extra culture yield, yet you would have a reason to build wetus in all your cities for a possible late game bonus. I would suggest great work of art over writing as you always need more spots for your archeological discoveries.

Thanks for the feedback! You're probably right that adding a Great Work slot in the wetu would be a more effective design choice. I designed the Wampanoag when I was just getting into modding, and over-prioritized a design that was simple enough to be feasible. An update for the Wampanoag is in development already, so I'll see if I can incorporate the Great Work slot into the new build.

I'm not sure I agree with the first point, though— the Great Writer points still provide an incentive to build coastal cities, and they more closely capture my intent, which was to highlight the role of wampum belts as records of treaties and as memory aids for Wampanoag oral tradition. Switching to Culture would also create more overlap with vanilla Japan than I'm comfortable with.

Great writer points are also a good motivation in a long run. Especially, if you have all these extra spots :c5happy:. They're just not as usuful in the early game.

Updates have been released to both of my civs!

Both updates:
- Add custom music
- Fix the strategic-view icon

The Wampanoag update also changes the effect of the Wetu; it formerly added a Writer specialist slot, but now adds a Great Work of Writing slot instead.

If anyone finds any bugs or has any questions, don't hesitate to let me know!

So, I'd gotten some complaints that DoW icons for my civs were showing up as a black circle; it turns out this was a problem with my DDS converter. I've updated that program, and now the icons are back in business!

With the new updates to both of my civs, I have:
- Fixed the 32x32 icon
- Added more custom dialogue!
