TOT: Can't see advanced technologies in Extended Orifinal game

and it's driving me crazy. I downloaded the patch from the official civ site but it does nothing. I build a space ship, go to Alpha centauri, and then win, even if there are aliens to fight there. I never get to research the new technologies or build new units. Using the cheat function I see the game doesn't seem to work right after the very first turn - the advanced technologies disappear off the tech list.

Is this because I'm playing it on windows NT? Anyone else have this problem?

nope. Don't get so mad. if you beat the game with low end units, you should be proud!

Finally got to see the advanced game by always loading from the autosaved versions. Which was a pain, I always had to finish my turn and start the next one before I could quit (this is point at which it autosaves). Also, if I wanted to back it up a turn, the second autosave wasn't reliable - sometimes it would save one turn back, which I like, sometimes it was several turns back.

Oh well at least I finally got to explore centaurus properly, and I can do it again some time.
