Trading luxury resources question

I have 2 of the same luxury resource , and the advisor reccommended trading one of them . For some reason when i speak to another leader i never have that resource to trade with even though i have 2 of them.

Confused why i cannot trade this resource (spices).

Probably because whomever you're trying to trade it with already has spices.

Did you try trading with all of the AIs?

Another possibility is that both of the spices are gifts from an allied city-state.

You can't trade such gifts. (If it's the latter, they need to update the advisers to not give false information!)

I tried all 4 Civs i had met and couldnt trade , but then a little while later i could trade them with one of them with my spice's. Maybe on of the others was already trading spice and they all ended up having some.
