wow. I am fairly surprised at all the negative comments. No wonder Hollywood isnt doing as well this year as it should. hehe.

Those Hollywood limousine liberals must be flabbergasted!

Now if only they'd come up with compelling movies on a consistent basis....

Of course the idea is lame, how old is the brand transformers anyway? Early 80:s? :p I remember some transformers turning into casette radios and such.

I'll definately go see it with some friends, if only because I was a fan of the comic books in my childhood.

After looking through the official site my hopes aren't that high for actually seeing a good movie though. The Megatron design is just bleh.

EDIT: And so is just about every other character concept... who the hell is in charge of this.

I'm skeptical as movies like this tend to, you know, suck. The last movie I saw was Doom and I haven't been back in a cinema since then.

But who knows? Perhaps this is the film that breaks the cycle of crudiness!

It'll be great to look at, just try to switch your brain off and it'll all be fine. But it's not out in Britain for a month! Idiots, I'll download it before then!

When one does not have dates or a Girlfriend. One does not watch movies as often :p.

Haven´t heard anything about it more than that it was on the way. Probably going to see it, if just for some sort of nostalgia.

The premise of the movie is terrible and boring. I'd probably fall asleep in theatres if I tried to watch it. Why not make a movie about Legos? That would equally as boring but perhaps attract a bigger crowd...or not.
Like This?

Who says you need a date to go see a movie? Anyway, this isnt what I would call a date movie....its more of a guys night out movie.

So, MobBoss, given your interest in Transformers, can I assume you believe in the doctrine of transubstantiation? ;)
He's a Protestant. He denies Transubstantiation :p. Plus he goes by the Solas; sola fide, sola gratia or sola scriptura.

Where have you been? In a cave? It was a cartoon even before it was a comic book.

I have been in Spain, where they had the good taste of not broadcasting the cartoon series.

Both of you please stop. This thread isnt about religion and there is not one reason to go that direction.

Oh, geez, have a sense of humor, you old grump.

;)

More OT: The fact that its a Michael Bay directed it. He's all style, no substance.

Well, look at the marquees, what do they had so far? Rambo V, Oceans 13, Spiderman III, Shrek III, Die Hard IV, F4 II... No originality at all. At least Transformers is not a sequel, or a prequel or anything very related to an older movie.

Oy, get a funny bone. Life is not meant to be filled with seriousness :). (I get an idea and wanders off to make a thread)

Heck, I bet Transformers would have bits of comedy in it ;).

this is exactly why im never the first person to go watch a movie anymore, i remember i was one of the first people to see Jason X in the theater :vomit:

as for the movie i think it looks great but thats what i thought about DOOM and apparently it sucked really bad, but i know the toys are gonna be BADarse man i wish i was still 9 years old

Im only dissapointed that megatron is not a Gun and that Shockwave dosent seem to be in that movie!

Just seeing these things on screen will remind me of my childhood. I had goosebumps seeing Prime in that one trailer.
