If you KNOW the written language of another country and want it in ALL of the TEXT in C2C, this is your chance. And even get your NAME in the credits area of the actual game:)

All languages are welcome. Especially now that AIAndy has fixed the TXT area to work in English if no other text is given or there so not to mess things up with YOUR country when playing as that country (I believe that how its coded).

So pls just do some XML coding (its very very simple to do) in the text area ONLY and for YOUR country, now wouldn't that be nice!

Just zip it up and place it in this thread area, and maybe after awhile you can be added to the SVN for regular commits to that area. . . SO
 
Post here some kind of tutorial "how to" add another translation.

Maybe even I want to add Polish translation. Who knows ;)

Sadly i don't have much time to do so :( also i don't have something to Digitally write things down while travelling else i might have done a little while sitting in the bus

There is a problem - Notepad++ and XML Maker convert the Russian text to "???" or removed (after i'm save and close). What can be done?

^^as far as I have seen, THIS is the problem here for languages like russian or polish. as far as I got to know til now, civ4 only wants to have this west-latin charset. UTF8 Tests have delivered some errors for me (even with using an ingame-full-utf8-font), so I dont know if it could work. So please - do further testing before just switching the encoding.
AND... if this ever would work, it needs to be done in the encoding-line in the textfile, as well as in the encoding of the whole saved file.
 
Yes UTF-8 will be the best choice.

We waiting for you. If it is possible to change xml coding to utf-8 it will be great.
 
The biggest problem is that the translation must be done by one person or group of people fully cooperating with each other. Otherwise there will be a lot of differences in naming buildings, units, etc. I know many "professional" translations which spoil the game because of such differences.
 
Solved the problem. The problem was in my version of Notepad++ and congenital stupidity :)))) Selection "UTF-8" has helped.

Looks like if is supposed to except at the top, but that is a simple, copy and paste.
Other thing is, when doing something like this put it in CODE wrap
