Trip ideas

you could also put your testicles in a meat grinder. few people will ever experience that pain.

I read up on torture methods used by various governments in Medieval Europe and I have found much worse punishments.

You Did Not Want to be found guilty of Killing a king. Or else say goodbye to your manhood(and of course life but that comes after much suffering). Being drawn and quartered was an excruciating experience as well. Much worse than getting your balls crushed. :vomit:

Save your money and join an international volunteer organization. Go where they send you.

Oh we're talking about xXxTREEEEEM trips. I was gonna suggest a drive through all the countries of Europe as that's something few people ever get to do and something I'd like to do someday. :)

Sounds great, but beware of bad roads, expensive gas and lack of cheap places to sleep. If you don't have a lot of money you must sleep in hostels, tent or your car, but that's better IMO.

I read up on that once, but I found out that it was very expensive to volunteer... would probably be a good experience though.

If I wanted to torture myself i'd go to someplace in the middle of nowhere with no access to the internet.

Well he might learn something since he is a holocaust denier and Stormfront poster.

This seems the best suggestion. Just make sure you know exactly what you're getting yourself into, so you can tailor your choice to an applicable degree of extremity.

The last couple of months I have been in the military. I recently got out. My plan is to go to university this fall. Until then I don't have that much planned. I want to go on a big adventure. I don't want to back pack and look att museums, I want more of an expedition. I have got about $15 000 and a couple of months to spend on this trip. My goal is not to enjoy the trip, but to sufer through something beyond what most people will ever experiance.

So far I have thought of these

skiing in greenland a bit over budget but definetly on the right track.

Going on a very long bicycle trip that would last for months.

2 years ago I flew down to the southermost point on this continent (the americas) and did a grueling 5 day long hike through mountains, by glaciers, etc. It was a life changing experience.

It's called the w-circuit, can be found in the torres del paine national park, in southern Patagonia, Chile. The trail is about 66 km long, goes through mountaineous terrain, and takes 4-5 days to complete. You can do it as a part of a guided tour, or by yourself. I went with a hiking buddy and we did it all by ourselves - I recommend this route, it forces you to camp in tents (instead of staying in fancy huts) and doing everything yourself.

By the end of the hike I was a mess.. I threw up, had cramps in my legs, felt like a zombie, etc. so this type of trip seems to fit your bill!

Not only that, once you're down there, you might as well go visit the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia. It's about a 12-14 hour bus ride from the park, but well worth it, IMO. You can also see penguins in the wild in the area, and a lot of other stuff.. It is all very remote, so it def. has the "expedition" feeling that you're looking for.

It really has changed me.. in very profound ways.. I can't stop thinking about the damn place! It's inspired me to attempt to do a similar type of trip.. took me a while to find something similar, but I think I have. I am heading to new zealand in a week to do the 55km long Milford Track, and a couple days later, the 32km long Routeburn track.

I'm not much of a hiker, am only somewhat in shape, and I HIGHLY recommend the w-circuit. It was AWESOME.. do it

edit: this trip cost me about $3k - $4k, but that includes the flight.. and it only lasted 3 weeks.. also includes all the gear I bought, and we did stay in hostels, which are cheeaaap down there. The NZ trip has already cost me ~$4k and I haven't even gone yet

Try a nudist camp, I bet a lot of the people have ugly bodies which would take some endurance both to look at and not stare at.
