I just got this game, and I know about armies. but i am unable to get any of my elite units to become leaders. My problem is that i have over 50 units invading my enemy and i have to move them one by one. Not to mention after i move a unit the game(seemingly randomly) jumps to another unit no where near where i am currently fighting, and i have to move back befor i can select the next unit to move. .This is pissing me off, i cant find anything in the manual about moving them in groups(except for the armies i cant get). How do i move units in groups?????

I cant? How is this possible? Are you telling me that this game got all these great reviews ,awards from gaming sites, and popularity, and YOU HAVE TO SPEND 5 MINUTES A TURN MOVING UNITS ONE BY ONE. That is BULL****.

How can you people stand playing this game?

The only suggestion I can make is to get familiar with the short cut keys for movement.

It's not that bad, just use the goto command, by the time you have A LOT of units, you'll have railroads too.

Yeah that G key helps lot especially when moving on railroads, roads or just moving fast unit.

Seems to me that if you turned off the Movement animation, things would move faster also, I know my dad plays Civ2 with out any movement animation, may not use any battle animations either.

After seeing them once, I turn off ALL animations. By the modern era, no matter what kind of PC you got, it starts to CRAWL between turns.

Cosmetics are nice, but gameplay is the most important. Take Stacraft, the graphics are severely outdated, but it's still extremely popular.

Thanks for the advice. Without animations it goes much faster.

I still think there should be a group movement command. I dont buy into the bull that the creators of civilization are all gamers themselves. If they were, someone would have taken 10 minutes and created a group movement function.
