Trump In Charge: Wrecking Ball

Since when it is not a conspiracy theory that politicians like small children, but it is still conspiracy that there is Illuminati/ shadow government/deep state that runs USA and also likes small children?

Did Diddy case change public perception?

I was waiting for this thread. I expect nothing good due to this presidency in USA, except troops being sent to help Israel who is "bullied" by it's neighbors (sarcasm intended).

On Gaetz

Trump wants Gaetz confirmed “100%,” a source told CNN. “He is not going to back off. He’s all in.”

Trump made his pick for attorney general hastily amid dissatisfaction with other potential candidates, but he has nevertheless grown enamored with the idea of having a political arsonist like Gaetz overseeing his promises to dismantle the Justice Department. He also believes Gaetz is uniquely positioned to defend the Trump administration on television, an attribute prioritized by the president-elect. Trump’s pick for deputy attorney general — his defense attorney Todd Blanche — will carry out the day-to-day work of overseeing the Justice Department’s more than 40 agencies and 115,000 employees.

Vivek Ramaswamy, one of two people leading the incoming Trump administration’s plan to drastically reduce the scope of the federal government, named the Department of Defense, the Department of Education and “health care” as areas they will target. Ramaswamy also hinted at the legal justifications the administration may use to carry out those cuts.

Ramaswamy said in a interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo Sunday that the newly-formed Department of Government Efficiency, led by him and Elon Musk, will take its first steps to cut federal spending through executive action. He argued that recent rulings by the Supreme Court around the legality of federal regulations clear the path for sweeping cuts without congressional approval. “We expect certain agencies to be deleted outright,” Ramaswamy said. “We expect mass reductions in force in areas of the federal government that are bloated. We expect massive cuts among federal contractors and others who are over-billing the federal government.”

Ramaswamy repeatedly pointed to the Supreme Court as an avenue by which the Trump administration would likely see the proposed spending cuts approved. “Think about the Supreme Court’s environment over the last several years,” he said. “They’ve held that many of those regulations are unconstitutional at a large scale. Rescind those regulations, pull those regs back, and that gives us the industrial logic to then downsize the size of that administrative state. And the beauty of all of this is that can be achieved just through executive action, without Congress.”

Bolding mine.

Trump names Brendan Carr as his FCC leader

Carr has his eyes on social media and has threatened to use the FCC to regulate speech that conservatives disagree with.
Someone involved with Project 2025 to boot. You know, that thing some folks tried to argue had nothing to do with Trump and was pages of non-material that would never come to pass?

Hmm.

Musk is a conservative, so I'm not seeing there being much of a problem. Musk is free speech in name only, after all.

Gaetz information leaked! From WaPo.

"An unidentified person appears to have accessed documents shared among lawyers in a civil suit that concerns allegations against former Congressman Matt Gaetz, according to a person who received an email notifying them of the breach. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter.

The file contains unredacted sworn testimony from a woman who said Gaetz paid to have sex with her when she was 17, along with other depositions from witnesses involved in the case, said a person who was notified of the hack, which was first reported by the New York Times. Gaetz has denied having sex with anyone underage or paying for sex.

A person named “Altam Beezley” downloaded the exhibits, according to a confirmation email received from shared file database.

“I have not been able to identify the person who downloaded the files, but I have contacted the email address provided, asking the person to identify him or herself, instructing that their access is not authorized, and telling them that they should destroy the materials they downloaded,” wrote the lawyer who discovered the breach. “My email was returned becuase the email address was not found.”

If the files are released publicly, they could identify the women who have testified against Gaetz."

Trump picks celebrity TV doctor to run Medicaid

Donald Trump has named Mehmet Oz, a doctor and former television host, to run the powerful agency that oversees the healthcare of millions of Americans.
“There may be no Physician more qualified and capable than Dr. Oz to Make America Healthy Again, " Trump said in a statement announcing his pick to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Oz trained as a surgeon before finding fame on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the early 2000s, later hosting his own TV programme.
He has been criticised by experts for promoting what they called was bad health advice about weight loss drugs and "miracle" cures, and suggesting malaria drugs as a cure for Covid-19 in the early days of the pandemic.

The Trump transition team said in a statement that Oz "will work closely with [Health Secretary nominee] Robert F Kennedy Jr to take on the illness industrial complex, and all the horrible chronic diseases left in its wake".
Oz will need to be confirmed by the Senate next year before he officially takes charge of the agency.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services oversee the country’s largest healthcare programs, providing coverage to more than 150 million Americans. The agency regulates health insurance and sets policy that guides the prices that doctors, hospitals and drug companies are paid for medical services.
In 2023, the US government spent more than $1.4 trillion on Medicaid and Medicare combined, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
Trump said in a statement that Oz would “cut waste and fraud within our Country's most expensive Government Agency”, and the Republican Party platform pledged to increase transparency, choice and competition and expand access to healthcare and prescription drugs.
Oz, 64, trained as a cardiothoracic surgeon – specialising in operations on the heart and lungs – and worked at New York City’s Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University.
After he appeared in dozens of Oprah segments, he started The Dr Oz Show, where he doled out health advice to viewers.
But the line between promotion and science on the show was not always clear, and Oz has recommended homeopathy, alternative medicine and other treatments that critics have called “pseudoscience”.
He was criticised during Senate hearings in 2014 for endorsing unproven pills that he said would “literally flush fat from your system” and “push fat from your belly”.
During those hearings Oz said he never sold any specific dietary supplements on his show. But he has publicly endorsed products off air and his financial ties to health care companies were revealed in fillings made during his 2022 run for the US Senate in Pennsylvania.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Oz promoted the anti-malaria drugs hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, which experts say are ineffective against the virus.

To get a high office under Trump being a TV star is the first qualification.

Does anyone think this will matter?

Does anyone think this will matter?

Not very much. The circumstances of the release of that information gives Republicans a pretext to be outraged about the hack instead of the substance of what has been revealed. My guess is Gaetz will even get a few Democratic votes by promising to put a stop to all the "pro-Hamas" college protests.

Stephanie McMahon is getting some post. Just a matter of time before they stage a bra and panties royal rumble on the White House lawn.

Yea, God forbid we have actual freedom of speech in this stupid fudging country.
