Trump In Charge: Wrecking Ball

Can you imagine campaigning on wanting to appoint an alleged paedophile and rapist?
Can you imagine voting for someone without knowing their view on major critical policy issues?

Moderator Action: Trump appointment news please.

Dunno how much I think the cabinet matters. More important are firings and rehirings in the various arms of the federal government. Without mass replacement, lower bureaucrats will slowwalk the radical Trump agenda.

High turnover would be worrying. Cabinet not so much.

Most likely scenario? Underwhelming implementation of most things, while Trump golfs a bunch.

<sighs in hopefully non-moderable>

This said, nobody has yet explained why his picks for top government positions are only revealed AFTER the election as opposed to being major key talking points in the campaign as one would expect.
It's more fun that way...

Like going through a haunted house, or watching a horror movie... where you never know what next terrible thing is going to happen, or what terrors are behind every corner... like a SAW movie, where each destructive surprise is more horrific than the last.

Or like an evil/horror version of Christmas, where you don't know what surprise is in the box, but you know its likely to be dangerous and you're sure that you aren't going to like it... like The Nightmare Before Christmas where Jack the Pumpkin King takes over for Santa Claus and is giving people macabre presents like boxes with severed heads in them and snakes and such...
Half of the American public lost it's mind and voted for a rapist and possible pedophile who will cause incredible levels of misery
Its worse than that... they didn't lose their minds at all.
The Senate is making a DOGE Caucaus with Joni Ernst (R-IA) and John Cornyn (R-TX) as the founding members.

When I saw that they were creating a department/committee and naming it after Dodgecoin I initially thought it was a joke/satire, like something from The Onion newspaper... I felt a little silly when I realized how obvious it was that it wasn't satire, clearly they would do something like this, because of course they would... its so on-brand for the Trump circus, that it shouldn't be the least bit surprising.

Kabosu is rolling in her grave right now.

This is what around 90% of voters do (very little to no value placed on policy issues) and is one of the most well researched and demonstrated facts in the study of voter behavior.

But also it wouldn’t matter? Trump is a rapist and pedophile himself. That is fine for half the voters. Why would they care that a few cabinet members are too? That clearly does not sway people.

This is very, very funny

I'm sure that will solve the inflation problem.

Trump lawyers investigate allegations that top aide sought financial gain from influence with president-elect, sources say

Attorneys for Donald Trump conducted an internal investigation into allegations that one of his top aides, Boris Epshteyn, has sought to gain financially from his influence with Trump and others in the president-elect’s orbit, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

The internal investigation, which was confirmed by half a dozen sources and is not criminal in nature, has probed multiple instances of Epshteyn allegedly requesting payment in exchange for promoting candidates for administration positions or offering to connect individuals with people in the upcoming administration relevant to their industries, sources said.

In one instance he requested as much as $100,000 per month in exchange for his services, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Grocery prices are the #1 thing when people talk inflation. Especially Trump voters. In the country, housing and rent aren't unmanageable. When country Trump voters use the word inflation, it's usually interchangeable with grocery prices.

Trump could operate with little or no ethics oversight during his second four-year term, making conflicts of interest more possible. It also opens up new ways for foreign interests and corporations to attempt to influence him and his administration's policy by pouring money into his businesses.
At the end of his first term, at least 20 governments, including Saudi Arabia and China, collectively spent more than $7.8 million at his hotels and golf courses, according to a report compiled by congressional Democrats., opens new tab
It also severely affects the public's trust in government, watchdog groups say.
Public trust in government hit some of the lowest levels in over 60 years during Trump's last administration, when only 17% of Americans trusted the government to do what was right.

Public voted the imbecile into office, so suck it public.

And when grocery prices are three times as high under Trump, we're all going to find out that actually the country Trump voters don't really care about grocery prices after all
