Trump Indicted!

Imagine thinking that going after political enemies with trials, will magically end with Trump.
But what is far worse, is that usefuls believe that political speculating literally plays no role. That's why they are such usefuls, and both of the US parties, which both are obviously right-wing, can rely on them.
Imo the only good scenario would be to wait until the election is over, and then - since the justice system should not rely on who is in government - move for trials etc. Not set a precedent for someone who has a clear chance of winning, being prevented from running, and think that was simply justice; your usefulness won't be helping future generations.
You are ignorant of the US and US politics. Trump has not been kept from running and has been, in fact ,using "running for president" as a tool to keep from being indicted and tried in US courts, as well as, using "I can attack my oppressors because it is political speech" to rile up his useful idiots to defend him. The Democrats do not have a legion of useful idiots who blindly support a wannabe king. The Democrats do not have a legion of useful idiots who want to overthrow the rule of law.
Even if x were idiots, such isn't to be posted when part of x are in the forum. It's one of the reasons I left it more general, for such people are indeed very useful to the parties.

My issue with Trump being put on trial (assuming he is found guilty and can't run) is that the attempt is to make it before the general election. If this was about justice, why have the timeframe of up to this election?
Even if there is presidential immunity for all charges (?), he can only be potus for roughly the next 4 years, so trials/convictions (=justice served) would apply still.
In other words, there isn't any use thinking that it's not about the election - if it was justice alone, it could wait: people routinely do stuff and pay only after x years/trial process concludes.
Trump has done everything in his power to delay delay delay his trials so that he can win the election and then use his power as president to officially end the investigations, indictments and trials. Trump's goal has been to use the election as a shield against his indictments and trials. Trump announced he would run for president in 2024 two years before the election (Nov 2022). He did so for two reason: to dissuade others from running and to build a defense against indictments. Once he was running he could claim that any indictments were politically motivated to keep him from being president. He has been successful in both. It is the "useful idiots" that believe Trump when he says "I am being persecuted by Democrats". He does not like losing to the rule of law and being held accountable for criminal acts. Trump has been a criminal all his adult life and and he and his crime family are finally caught in a web of their own making. He is struggling to get out of it without going to jail. If you are going to pontificate about US law and presidential politics, it would be better if you focused more on actual facts and less on spelling.

In addition, and in furtherance of the above, Trump has ousted the RNC chair Ronna McDaniel (who is Mitt Romney's niece) and installed his own daughter in law Lara Trump along with Michael Whatley as co-chairs. The sole purpose of this move, is to put Trump in control of the Republican Party's finances and campaign funds, so that they can divert every penny the Republican Party takes in, towards paying Trump's ongoing legal bills and to fund Trump's Presidential campaign, to the exclusion of all the other Republicans running in down-ballot races.

The RNC's campaign funds are getting diverted away from all the other Republicans running and their campaigns, instead to be used solely to keep Trump out of jail, first by paying his legal bills and as you say, getting him elected so he can end all the criminal cases against him. Liberal YouTuber Brian Cohen did an editorial video where he plays a clip from NewsMax, where Lara Trump states unequivocally, that the Trump Campaign and the RNC are now one and the same. That's not how its supposed to work. The RNC and DNC are supposed to be separate from the campaigns of the POTUS Candidates so that they can focus money and support on all the other members of the party running for office. Merging the RNC with the Trump campaign means that Republicans running for office are going to lose RNC support and funding in favor of funds going to Trump instead. In the video Cohen's guest speculates that this is part of why so many Republicans are quitting Congress. They aren't getting the needed support from the RNC because the money is getting diverted to protecting Trump.

It's the guys like Gen. Anthony Tata that you should be aware of, not him exactly perhaps, but the thousands of others who have served and are serving in the US military who are gone all the way down the rabbit hole. Impervious to the lefty propaganda and just waiting.

Wars of words fail when people take up arms. All the Russia bad, Russa bad, literally trillions of words Russia bad, all that means nothing when people take up arms. It's pathetic. Putin is a war criminal. As if hearing those words will cause him to say, oops, sorry, here you go I give up.

The truth is that since the last years of the Bush administration Putin has been warning that western actions were intolerable, and we scoffed. What are you going to do about it? We found out and now we have deadly work.

It is the same between the left and right in the US. It has become intolerable and most people, most posters here as well, continue to unleash the torrent of words, scolding, scolding and it is pathetic. It does not matter who is right and who is wrong. It's real world stuff. The shattering of civility leaves prissy little issues such as his opinion or her opinion in the dust.

They hung John Brown, settling nothing.

If you don't like shattering civility, stop doing it. No one in the Democrats is doing it. It is exclusively a Republican thing.

Imagine thinking the US has any of this, lmao. The Overton window sure has broken some folks' ability to formulate an argument, huh?
It has right-wing parties pretending that (one of them) they facilitate the left. It is rather obvious from far far away (from considerably more than just half a planet away btw) that this is a very poor trick.

Sorry snowflake, this is what you signed up for a a Trump supporter. Y'all abolished political decorum (or, really what was left of it after the Gingrich-era GOP) 9 years ago. Welcome to the hole you dug for yourself!

Trump repeats attack on ex-lawyer on eve of trial despite gag order

By Reuters

April 13 (Reuters) - Donald Trump once again attacked his former lawyer Michael Cohen on Saturday, potentially testing the limits of a gag order that bars him from making public statements about witnesses concerning their testimony in his upcoming criminal trial in New York.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, the former president wrote, "Has disgraced attorney and felon Michael Cohen been prosecuted for LYING? Only TRUMP people get prosecuted by this Judge and these thugs!"

Cohen is expected to be a key witness for the prosecution at the trial, which is scheduled to begin with jury selection on Monday and will be the first criminal trial ever of a former American president.
Prosecutors have accused Trump of falsifying business records to hide a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election to buy her silence about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump.

Cohen has said Trump ordered him to make the payment and then arranged for him to be reimbursed.
Trump has pleaded not guilty, and has denied having sex with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.
Justice Juan Merchan, who is overseeing the trial, imposed a gag order on Trump in March at prosecutors' request, blocking him from speaking about witnesses concerning their participation in the case.

He extended the order on April 1 to cover his own family members and those of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, though Merchan and Bragg themselves are not included.
The district attorney's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to federal charges that he violated campaign finance law through the payment to Daniels. He separately pleaded guilty later that year to lying to Congress in 2017 about a real estate project in Moscow, though he says he did so to protect Trump.

Trump, the Republican presidential candidate in November's election, has claimed he is the victim of political persecution.
He went after both Cohen and Daniels - another likely prosecution witness - on Truth Social earlier this week, calling them "sleaze bags."

May I add something here? Tru!p can be elected AND serve as presiden. even if convicted in all four jurisdictions. Nothing in the Constitution prevents that nor is there a federal law prohibiting someone convicted of crimes from holding office, whether in Congress or the presidency.

No one is trying to stop him from running. Benedict Donald knows it will alienate the millions of voters who did not chose to register with either of the two main parties.

Actual jury selection has begun; the first 100 or so potential jurors have been sworn in.

The only way Trump wins is if he is able to pocket a couple of stealth jurors. Or one who can stand firm.
