Turn 39 has been received. No Persians in sight. This time I don't have a SG to play next so the game is still open. Any suggestions?

BTW, all is not lost. Sure 4 pop (I initially thought just 3 pop) is a big hit, but we'll already be the fastest growing so that's not such a big deal as it seems. We just need to get built back up and defended as quick as we can.

If I get time today I'll see if I can find Emp. Napolean online and ask what they are willing to offer for writing. Don't take that as a committment -- if someone else can get to them first it's better.

On popping the hut with a worker:

The odds of getting something positive are definitely increased anytime a non-military unit makes the contact. We clearly want to take the chance anyway. If the Persian warrior moved S (still in the fog) then any outcome from them reaching the hut first other than a settler (or town) is bad. If they get a tech or gold, they get an advantage. If they pop warriors or get a conscript then we become the target.

On science, stay with Republic, or go for something military?

Anyone have the chance to try diplomacy with MIA yet?

We are running a quite high science rate, and Shelby should fire the scientist I think. Our capital should perhaps build another settler, spears are useless against immortals and we need to expand.
IMO there is not much point in researching anything right now, I would rather trade for WC+Wheel with MIA, and then research HBR.

I lack the software (and to be honest also the stamina) for chats, but if you cannot get him online, I have posted a draft letter in the MIA thread.

Springfield completes settler, starts on spearman. It will get the pump out of whack a little but we're still pretty short of military. 3 turns to change it back if we want to.

Lux to 10%, lowest value which keeps all Shelbyville citizens at work. Sci to 70%, Republic in 49, 0gpt.

Warrior moves onto ruins of Cruller, the Persian warrior did indeed move S.
Warrior moves onto forest S of Cruller, so they are mutual support. If the RNG favors us then we eliminate the intruder without loss, otherwise we have 2-1 odds. Don't want them tromping around and gathering even more intelligence.

Western exploring warriors heads N, want him that way to look for oncoming additional enemies. Eastern explorer goes N, then can go E to get that hut.

Worker leaves the local hut be for now, too risky to pop it with our enemy right on top of us.

Boats sail towards unknown waters.

Shelby has the worker, settler, existing MP, and warrior due in 1. Settler located there to rebuild Cruller in the NW if we decide to put it back there, or to pick up escort if we decide to settle elsewhere. Please give your input on where our new 3rd city should go, and if we should name it Cruller again in defiance or use another name in mourning.

Curragh #2 picture "the strait of Rikbralter".

Do we want this curragh to follow our continent to localize TNT, or the other continent's north shore looking for KISS?

Muchkin will find kiss, we need to go find tnt, so the carragh 2 should follow our continent.

The settler should go SW down the coast and start the city on the sq. NW of the wine

Let's hope the Persian guy attacks and dies.
I would settle east first, I believe it was nr 4 in the dot map. We need some high shields towns for military. Cruller can be resettled later. The river locations NW of former Cruller look good as well.
I think Springfield should do more settlers. Perhaps an archer if we get the tech.
Do we really want to do Republic at max rate?
