We have defeated the Zulu!
Persians next we survey their forces:
Longbow = 4
Rifleman = 1
Cavalry = 4
Infantry = 35
Artillery = 13
Galley = 1
Ironclad = 4
Transport = 4
Destroyer = 8
Fighter = 3
Bomber = 1
Total = 78
Our troops are already in position, unfortunately none of the Bombers in Ergili can reach the Persian cities, our Modern armour will have to do it by themselves. Time to attack Tyre. We lose 2 Modern Armour against the defending Infantry, but capture Tyre razing it to the ground, destroying a Fighter in the process.
We go for Susa, but our Modern Armour lose! We are left with one 3/4 Modern Armour in reach, there are bound to be more troops defending than the current Infantry, so we move more Armour in and wait for next turn. We clear up the two Cavalry that pillaged our horses, then go for Pasargadae. We lose a Modern Armour against defending Infantry, then use the Tank Armies and win! Our Modern Armour attack again and win this time. We take out the last defender (a Longbowman) with an injured Modern Armour and capture Pasargadae. We now control Leonardos Workshop! Not a lot left to upgrade though!
We now occupy 59.3% of the tiles. We no longer need Mpondo, so abandon it after selling the improvements. We sink the unprotected Galley, rebase our Bombers to Pasargadae, and move our troops and Artillery into position for the next series of attacks.
We move our troops and Artillery into position for the next series of attacks. Our Workers clear pollution, more foreign workers hike in the outback to keep it clear from barbs. We run out of places to put foreign workers, so rush Hospitals in Salamanca and Niagara Falls so we can put more there. War weariness is affecting our cities, some labourers move into the entertainment business.
End of Turn 1, 40% science, Space Flight in 9, 799 gold, 691 gpt.
1690 AD Turn 2
The Persians counterattack, bombing our newly captured coal source near Pasargadae and blocking it with an Infantry.
We start bombing Persepolis, but our pilots need glasses, missing more than they hit! We try Artillery, but they need glasses too! Miss after miss after miss, but we eventually redline the defenders. Our Modern Armour attacks and wins! We capture Persepolis and control the Pyramids. We now control 59.5% of the tiles.
Next is Susa, defended by Infantry and Rifles. We attack with Modern Armour and win. We capture Susa and raze it to the ground.
We start bombing Antioch. This batch of pilots also need their eyes testing as they miss repeatedly. We try Artillery they miss as well! We try bombarding Gordium to break the bad luck. We miss repeated there too! We return to Antioch and still cant hit it! Enough of that, our Mech Infantry Army attacks and wins, defeating the Infantry. An Elite Modern Armour attack another and wins giving us another Great Leader, De Gaulle.

Our Modern Armour keeps attacking and winning, and we finally capture Antioch and raze it to the ground.
Next comes Gordium. Our Artillery struggles, but succeeds in injuring the defending Infantry. We attack with our Tank Army killing the defending Rifleman. Our Modern Armour take over, attacking the redlined Infantry and winning! We capture Gordium and raze it to the ground!
We have considerably reduced the number of Persian troops:
Longbow = 2
Cavalry = 2
Infantry = 7
Artillery = 1
Ironclad = 3
Transport = 3
Destroyer = 6
Total = 24
We cant reach any more cities this turn now dues to Persias culture, its now that it is pointed out that domination limit is 67% not 60%! We could have kept the last cities to enable us to finish this turn! Oh well, just one more turn
. We position our troops in 2 stacks of around 35 Modern Armours each, one next to each of the remaining cities, dispose of the intruding Infantryman and launch out 1 Cruise Missile against a Destroyer. More foreign workers are joined to cities in the Greek and Egyptian provinces. We bring in the Foreign Workers from their wilderness hike next turn theyre all going to join a city! We set their future home Ergili to riot so they wont starve when they get there. We rush Libraries and Hospitals throughout Fanatica
End of Turn 2, 60% science, Space Flight in 8, 92 gold, 603 gpt.
1695 AD Final Turn (3)
A Persian Destroyer sinks one of our Ironclads! It shall soon be avenged.
We attack Sidon. It is defended by several Infantry, but although some retreat, we do not lose a single Modern Armour. When a conscript Rifle defends, we know we are nearly there! We capture Sidon!
We move all our troops into position around the final Persian City, then spend some of our gold on an investigation.
There is one more thing to do before we stop for the Victory Chat. The cry of Free the Slaves again drifts across the Chat Room. All the foreign Workers on the continent are gathered and one by one joined to the now rioting Ergili. Ergili grows and grows and grows
Until finally we reach size 117 without starving!
As a final thought we decide to steal Persias Military Plans we do so safely but we fail! Never mind, we have enough Modern Armour to do the job!
Onwards to Victory!
Our minimap when we started in 1680 AD
And when we stopped in 1695 AD
Come to the Victory Chat on Sunday!
