Hopefully by doing this I can start to catch up.

Sommers - Good plans - I generally agree but have a few suggestions/additions...

We should NOT build more workers in Otreta. We have a granary there which means the city can grow very fast. We should build a warrior or barracks there and then whip a worker once the city grows. It will be a far more efficient use of food. And we will be able to build workers just as fast while also getting some good side production towards our military...

I 100% agree, after we finish improving the deer we should mine the iron. Only question is, do we pasture+road the deer or just build a pasture? I think we should build a pasture+road as we are going to need to build a road anyway to link up that iron. We also will eventually want to road that deer tile anyway as it is the best link in/out of Epesus.

Agree with growing on military/boats and then whipping workers. What about a Galley? With Two Galleys we could put them inside Myrine's borders so that Merlot can't pass. They'd have to declare war to get through our borders and if that involves killing two Galleys they will probably just turn around... Agree with roading after camping, then mine the iron before roading... We can build Archers after we have Iron hooked up. I don't mind an Archer here... I'm not sure we should necessarily focus on improving our commerce... I wouldn't work a Fur Camp over a Deer Camp just to improve our tech rate.

Based on the above comments, I went ahead and 2 Pop whipped the worker. Otreta only has 3 improved tiles (3 pastures) so there were 2 pop points assigned to unimproved plains/hill/forests. We can send the new worker to Sheep so that when Otreta grows it can work the Sheep and grow even faster. We can build a Galley and an Archer in Otreta while it grows, then whip another worker or settler. We can even chop the 2 hills and build mines West of Otreta so that we can grow it even larger before whipping... especially with the 4th Sheep pasture up and running.

@SilCon - We cant block Merlot with our culture unless we pop the border in Myrine before they get there. I think that is unlikely, so we will have to let them go unless we want to actually DoW them . Sirius will have to be the ones to do the sinking if tere is going to be any sinking. We can tell them that as per the Q's plan, they are responsible for stopping Merlot, and we will handle Mavericks, so that they can keep their relations with their neighbor/enemy peaceful.

I agree that we can pretty much ignore commerce for a little while in favor of REX and Growth. The only thing I would be in favor of to keep our tech rate respectable, is building a library and running Science Specialists.

Per the diplomacy mentioned above, I think it makes a lot of sense for the aggressors to be the civs that are not the neighbors of the victims.

I'm also in favor of completely ignoring commerce for the time being. It's not our strength and that's what we have allies for. Let's REX bomb the game.

Commerce

If we are doing an EE econ we cant really run scientists for a while. We need to do some commerce growth. Our furs will give us a great boost, but we should build some cottages. This is critical for Them as once we get Bureaucracy we are going to want large developed cottages in our capitol.

Just to quickly let everyone know so nobody logging in misses this:

Merlot just Declared War on Us and killed Dora

Also, there is a disagreement brewing in the UN over the proposed rule change amendment, which has spilled over into a PM conversation between myself and whb of Merlot. It is somewhat related I think to the DoW that Merlot just made on us. I will post the conversation in the Merlot embassy shortly.

remake20, do you mind PMing the whole team like you did yesterday to get people to join chat to let them know we are at war?

Also, I will post the turn log later, but I just wanted to mention that I originally set the build in Otreta to an Archer (1 Turn), and moved Doris to go pick the Archer up, but then I noticed that we had been DoW'd, so I changed the build to a Galley to hopefully sink Merlot's Galley...

Should we slave the Galley? Wartime strategy is not my strong suit, and King Indiansmoke is a War-Master, so I really need the team to step up and advise on this... :please:

Sommers, can you give more information about what's happening in the PMs and the recent UN decision? Do you think this was a mistake DoW?

Also, if we're at war, this just got a lot more fun!

I could, but why not just tell them we are at war in the PM? Plus if they did come, I am very uneducated on the situation. And I agree with Leon, this should be fun.

Yes that is what I mean... sorry if I was unclear. Please PM everyone to tell them that we are at war. People might want to check in for that.:)

Just read through DaveMCWs note in the admin information thread. How is it that we're allied with Quatronia and we struck first to start the war, that doesn't make much sense to me, but maybe I'm missing something.

Will do, but I might not be able to until later today.

I don't understand this either!

If we're thinking about sinking their Galleys might be best to trade for MC from the Mavs (I think someone suggested this before the DoW)? With the permission of the other ETTT members... Or wait until one of our allies gets it, depending on the timeframe. I mean Galleys are pretty expensive and our best chance would be 50/50, which seems kind of a waste of hammers to me.

Guess we should try to that copper pretty soon, too.

edit: just looked at the CDZ thread, if we have backup then I think going with the galley isn't a bad idea.

I'm trying to figure out the point of Merlot's DoW - do we have any forces in sight? It doesn't make much sense for them to drop element of surprise w/o attacking us or doing a surprise razing raid.

If this is over the rules their actions are pretty infantile. It's not like we cheated...which could easily be considered more than we can say for them.

I'm having trouble getting into the game to actively look at the situation.

Thanks for coming to check out the situation... just wanted post to let you know I was online. I will post answer to your questions now. :woohoo: TMIT is back!

According to Indiansmoke... and this is "straight from the horses mouth" (or the King's mouth:king: as it were) they attacked us in retaliation for Quatronia attacking them.

I can't say that its about the rules debate, but I do think its related to them being left out of the trade alliances. As for the second part... I brought that up, and the ruling by the admin was to just ignore it and play on.:)

Yea I was having trouble too a minute ago, try again... also, are you typing the :2056 or leaving it out? I always leave it out but I have heard that on some compys you have to include it:confused:

@ Duo & leonisgod - Indiansmoke is no fool, he knows that the tech trades going on are indicative of a trading alliance. So when Quatronia attacked them (we still need to find out what kind of attack it was) Indiansmoke interpreted it as an alliance attack and killed Dora as retaliation. Now we have a tech alliance with Quatronia, not a military one per-se, but we have been discussing sinking workboats to protect the trading advantage of the tech alliance.

If Quatronia acted on that, maybe DaveMCW decided that it was the same as being in a military alliance, and therefore put us together for the purposes of this war. That is his interpretation and he is entitled to make it as the admin, so we accept it and play on.:)

Being in first position is probably better anyway.;)

Fair enough, i hadn't realized that Quatronia attacked, knowing that, it makes a lot more sense now. Also, welcome back TMIT!

Ah, okay I understand now. Did you send out those PMs sommer or did you just PM TMIT?

We need to work out a good plan of what to do with our two workers on the Home Island. Right now we have one that just finished a deer camp (#1) and one that just moved onto the iron (#2). I propose the following.
-1 and 2 both road in place (2 turns)
-2 begin an iron mine, 1 moves to mine on newly connected road and begns to mine.
-After that I am a bit less certain. I think a pasture for the sheep is a no brainer.
-more development around the NE city also makes sense.
-I think we should also consider some chopping of axes once we have the iron linked up. If we can get two axes on Marthaland we can very effectivly deny Merlot access.

What to build next in Orteta? Archer/barracks seem to be the options. A barracks now will allow us to field stronger axes once we get the iron hooked up. But we could also use an archer right now.
