Many people hate the background music, but I like it. But frequently in the middle of the game it goes silent! How do you make it start again?

Try ctrl+m (toggles music on/off).

I like the backround music, at least until the Modern age.

Hey guys, need help here! I've clicked on the custom music folder button and picked the folder with music files that i ripped off a music CD. But the message "file not found" keeps poping up. I then try to click on others folder with a different era of civ music and it works! What kind of format does the music files have to be for civ 4 to read them?:confused:

Related question...can I move Baba Yetu (I think that's the name of the opening song) into my I-Tunes playlist? Would that be a violation of anyone's intellectual property, so long as I'm not sharing the music?

Maybe this makes me geeky, but I think that particular song is cool enough to transcend the game.

I have never had any problems with mp3 files, but no wma files I have tried worked. No idea about other formats.

@chizzard

you actually need to name the songs you're gonna put in there the same as the ones which are already there. for example: if i want the medieval song PraetoriusBallet.mp3 to be Queen - Bohemian rapsody you will have to delete the PraetoriusBallet.mp3 paste Queen in the correct folder and then rename it to PraetoriusBallet.mp3:crazyeye:. i know it is a weird thing but that way it will work. btw the music folders can only contain a certain number of tracks. i don't know the exact number of tracks though

That seems like a lot of work. But the modern era music is pretty bad.

Welcome to the Forums rvtende. :beer:

How does anyone not like the music? The industrial and medieval ages are awesome.

Don't know about those, but the ancient era is pretty unbearable for me, that weird psuedo-african-arab thing is... grating.

IMHO, the only eras with consistently good music are Classical and Industrial.
