1080AD - Gamesave

DP's note: I might be going to Western Maryland with my family to drop off my sister at a debate camp (not sure if it's Saturday or Sunday), so if it's Sunday, then Octavian_X will run the chat, or the next in the Chain of Command. (domestic, foreign affairs, military, etc. or whatever order it is).

EDIT: It seems we'll be leaving at 5:30am EDT ! So, at the earliest, I'll be home at 12:00pm EDT. I'm giving it an hour or so for a lunch break in there, then I'll be able to start. Besides, the VP goes to church at 12:00pm tomorrow.

MM suggestions

  • General: Check every city at least after it produces something, or when it changes size. Try to MM for as little food and shield waste as possible. The DP may deviate from specific MM instructions where they lead to unnecessary shield or food overflow.
I intend to run Riva, Arglebargle, Liveratica and Skye (after ir finishes the market) as 4 turn settler factories. Please keep them at +5 food at all times.

*Research replaceable parts.
*Maintain a 60% research rate, lowering it if it nets us more gold but keeps the same finishing time.
*If this is to be a standard 10 turn chat, then set research to industrialization, but contribute no beakers into it so we can discuss on the forums.

Alliances: On turn 0, assuming that this poll does not swing to the contrary, please make the following alliances in whatever order you deem most efficient (the number of luxuries we have to give and the extras the AI will throw in may vary):

France gives: Peace, Alliance against the Byzantines and whatever else you can get (I think that’s only Music Theory as they have no gold)
We give nothing extra

Hittites give: Alliance against Byzantines and whatever else you can get (currently a Worker)
We give: Luxuries (currently 1)

Maya give: Alliance against Byzantine and whatever gold you can get
We give: Luxuries (currently 3)

War Declarations: You may declare War on the Persian as soon as Militarily desirable. Please ensure that no troops are in Persian territory when you do so. Target is Gordium and no further. Do not capture any cities beyond this point.
If any more Civs declare on us, they will soon regret it; just do not capture cities beyond Gordium as we do not wish to put ourselves over the domination limit.

Peace Treaties: Treaty with the French is covered under alliances. Do not break any alliances to make Peace.

Demands: Don’t pay any.

Long Term Planning: DP should use their discretion when it comes to Mutual Protection Pacts, Trade Embargos, and Espionage Missions, if any of these become available. Don't sign any new Rights of Passage.

Leave one defender each in Allegory, Lisbon (former Portugese territory), Paris, and Civantoria. Move remaining units toward Persian / Byzantine lands. The Elite* can be left behind in favor of moving a veteran forward, since it can't produce another leader where the vet can.

The 11 units on or near the Persian border should be enough for Parsargdae (sp?), but hold some of the other units in the area in reserve to handle Byzantine incursions. Having the alliance with the French may cause the Byzantine knights to head back to the east, if we're lucky.

Turn 0 - 1080AD -- non-zipped

Turn 5
Turn 5 (non-zipped)

We got another MGL!
We also defeated Persia in 3 turns, and reached Gordium. Our goals are set.... but domination is creeping up....

1080AD - Turn 10
1080AD - Turn 10 (non-zip)

Houston, we have a situation!

A Mayan SoD has been spotted to our NW. Also, domination is closing in fast... We're going one more turn to get some gold for rushes, and to see what that stack does. It could determine future discussion.

1190AD - Turn 11

1190AD - Turn 11 (non zip)

And determine the discussion it did! We surrounded the stack, and the Mayans attacked! Their stack has been decimated, however, some 1hp units were saved for GL hunting. We already have a MGL, which needs to be used for the Military Academy, or an Army.
