Just took a look at 1200. Loco has taken the deal - we got Printing Press. They also wanted our sugar and have offered crabs and deer. Unfortunately no email reply to our other suggestions.

How about if we just give them 1 galley and disband the other? Even if they don't pay us back it's nothing to us and no telling how much they will appreciate it. They also founded another city.

Crabs and deer for sugar sounds decent.
I wouldn't say no to giving them our galley.
How much did Printing Press improve our situation?

We could give them both galleys, as long as they do not expand into some territory we want. We could add a rider clause with those galleys. But please do not disband any of them. They may put them to good use towards some of the two big players.

How long would it take to bring one of the ships to Aloha? (We'd have to sail around a lot of land, wouldn't we?)

Press gave us something like 5 or 6 gold but with the cottage growth it will be 10 in no time and after we get this unit maintenance taken care of we should get science up to 80%.

I'd be happy to give Aloha the galley that we have off their north coast but they never got back to us so I'll probably just gift it to them. There is no convenient route to get any other units too them.

@Provo, I though of giving them both, but frankly there is a limit to how friendly I'm willing to be with people that won't even respond to emails. One free ship will already be a welcome surprise for them. I think two is going too far.

Don't sink the last one then, keep it as a back up or "stick behind the back", in the region to foil/alert invasions, scouting and so on.

The troops are home so no more unit away costs; unit support is still 7 but will be going down to 5 in a few turns. We are still expanding, current cities are growing well and a number of cottage upgrades are imminent. Meanwhile the war is getting expensive for trouble Piffle and must be causing huge damage to Aloha. We have the 3rd place GNP and Aloha has no cities on the top five.

On top of that workers are chopping forests in Wheelville and Polynesia to help with the observatories, and we should know pretty soon if we get Taj Mahal.

Also Saw this Epsilon galley with cats, what could he be up to?

We gave Loco a free ship, we need to capitalize on that good vibe by sending an email. They still have gunpowder and we have Mil tradition.

Aloha has some techs too, let’s stay friendly and hope that they give us some free stuff after they loose all hope for themselves.

Wouldn't hurt to talk with Epsilon of Piffle either, after all we have no beef with them and still have plenty of resources to trade.

Education in 7, but we have no information on what other teams are researching.

So lots of diplo to do and with the new members I thought this might be a good time to suggest assigning ambassadors.

The current navy is two caravels patrolling the western ocean, a galley on our Loco boarder and two galleys exploring in the east, of which 1 will be given to Aloha.

I like an earlier suggestion to explore Piffle with a caravel. I think particularly any area between them and Epsilon would be good. It would be good to see if Epsilon is supporting Piffle's war machine...

I don't understand how it benefits Epsilon to give units to Piffle, but we can try and look into it. I wonder if that galley load of catapults could be bound for Piffle?

@Chopping: How's Wheelville's health doing?

Well I hadn't thought about that, but we have plenty of resources right now and a grocery is almost done when we need it. Right now every citizen is healthy and happy. Maybe we can get some more WLTKD.

Why are we running Nationhood? Are we planning on drafting some units? (Port Tropicana could use a draft)

Wheelville might built a granary to accelerate growth and ease health problems.

About the settlers, I think we should settle site 5, and 1 NE of site Epsilon.

Could we trade Printing Press for Gunpowder with Aloha?
We should also try to get Engineering IMO, perhaps we can try to trade it with Loco, letting them research it.

Tanks for pointing that out. I'll switch to Burea next turn, although that means 9 more upkeep. its well worth it though.

The granary in Wheelville would mean that we would have to delay observatory and uni. Also I'm not sure how much larger the city can grow so the granary may not give us much benefit there. We will finish that grocer someday though.

We should for sure try talking to Loco and Aloha about setting up future trades and cooperation but neither of them are very responsive. Maybe we would get better results if some people would like to serve as ambasadors and develop personal contact rather than send mail to the gmail accaounts which may not get checked as often.

I'll start a new thread with pics for city locations later today.

Nationhood, you might want to draft one of the pretty useless citizens in Fort Tropicana (will give us a mace) before you switch.

Wheelville, I was just pointing something out, but unis are indeed better.

I made a few mistakes this time so I have donated my entire payment for this turn to the National Entitilitus Foundation.

I didn't realize that while caravels can enter water tiles without an OB agreement they can not sail into the city tile. So going through Epsilon's city into the other ocean is out.

I also moved our missionary to site 5, BUT IT WAS OUTSIDE OUR CULTURAL BOARDERS!!!! That's 1 gold down the drain.

That was the final straw. The people having had quite enough of my incompetence revolted and adopted Bureaucracy. They did this without adopting Slavery so rushing Taj Mahal is out of the question now. Maybe not such a big deal as it would cost us 4 citizens in Chowderton and a number of specialists that Caste System provides.

Nor did they draft anyone. I don’t see the use of another mace, especially a low XP one, besides Tropicanans are working as specialists until that cottage is finished.

Beta, on the west coast, is front runner for next city. Our current supply of workers are pretty full up and we are planning on more cities soo...I'm going to build 2 more workers but should I que them up after settling Beta, or delay the Beta settlement 5 turns and get the workers first?

Do the settler first please, and make our economy tick quicker.

For the rules. Please read them more.

For the civics. Good we shunned slavery.

For Beta. Yes pick it.

Caste System is better than slavery at the moment, as we need the scientists.
Just settle Beta, perhaps try to get some workers built in Magadan?

I've played turn 182.
We have two barbarian maces visiting us near Magadan in the north. We have an axe that can be attacked, but he has combat 2, shock and is across a river so he should make it. I've sent two camel archers north to deal with them.
There's also a barbarian near Polynesia, I've sent a camel archer out too get him. I've used a few military units as military police too.

By the way, we have spare rice and clams on Loco, we might want to trade that.
