    New thread time. MIA has sent us this bit of correspondence:

    From MIA to the Government of DNUTs:

    According to our Treaty "United Against the Storm", article 1.3, either team may cancel the Non-Aggression aspect of our agreement with 10-turns notice not to be given prior to turn 179. We are notifying you that we may not continue to be non-aggressive after 10 turns have elapsed.

    To be sure, we will not attack your units or station our units inside your territory (without permission) during this 10-turn 'cooling off' period, as our Treaty dictates. Likewise, the non-aggression clauses constrain your actions during this time as well, as you have not given prior notice to MIA that you intend to shed these restrictions. After the 10 turn waiting period, of course, all agreements and restrictions are lifted.

    The tone of this letter is a departure from the past; that is a reflection of the current issues in discussion publicly in the UN, as well as privately within MIA. We don't like the rancor we've inspiried at all. Therefore, we are trying to be careful in our communications for now, if a little terse. Expect more relaxed communication soon.

    Repectfully,

    MIA

    And from KISS:
    I saw your privateer continued north. I'll be finishing a frigate and starting to bomb the MIA coast. We started a 1 scientist grind on Commie.

    New turn log (180):

    What the? Greeks propose peace treaty? I decline; they are just trying to eliminate our war happiness at the moment IMO. This will take some diplomatic work by Nobody. I will send them a message that they need to clear that stuff with us.

    Battleground- worker
    DL's Place, Gap Filler - worker
    Another settler was produced as well.

    Electricity in 1.

    Finished the North Road to the fringes of the empire. Set the palace on 30 shields/turn after RRing. Capital is on 26 shields/turn and will be 27 next turn after its bank. There are several cities building troops without a barracks so changed that. If we lose TOE to the Greeks then Sun Tzus will be nice with Communism. The prebuild has 225 shields invested so 11 turns or so for either wonder. I plan on building troops troops and more troops as in ten turns I believe the Greeks will make a dedicated push at us.

    I intend to reply that since MIA's declaration of war, any treatys between our nations are disolved. Although we don't mind if mia has a unilateral ceasefire.

    Any apposed?

    I haven't looked at the save, but more likely they were doing what they did on my turnset, opening the foreign advisor to see our techs and forgeting to take the peace off the table

    Does that stop the 10 turn no attack?

    The 10 turn no attack thing is impossed by them thereselve, our generals should feel no restraint killing any mia they wish to. Infact their "declare war but not attack" policy is a insult.

    I agree we should take their declaration of war as the end of the treaty (using MIA logic :crazyeye:) and attack within 10 turns right after we have rifles, that is inbetween turn 187 and turn 190, just making sure we don't lose the element of surprise in diplomacy, or edgeing them to attack us first

    Never attack MIA, they will destroy any invading army asap and you will lose what you ve been planning, Kill KISS, railroad everysquare inch. MIA is going for factories and coal plants for sure by now.

    Continue to build up. This will be decided in military power around infantry, artillery and later tanks.

    Theres is no element of surprise against an continent fully railroaded. Its an death stack vs death stack.

    And pls get that Sun Tzu up and going, we need the barracks.

    Research is set to Replaceable parts in 5 turns. It would be nice to have some gold from KISS if Nobody can swing that in foreign relations. We will need to add in workers once our lands are fully improved; we have 112 workers so some cities closer to the core have gone on cannon duty. We can plant spies once we have Espionage and the Intel Agency built, correct?

    I put a MW in MIA territory to see what they had defending. Dispatched a message that he is just looking around.

    Rick had a good point before of the waste of cav, compared to inf when a railnet is in place, please switch some if not most of those cav builds to rifles, good on the 5 turn RP, how much are we in the red?

    We have 286 gold IIRC, losing 125 per turn. All of this is due to unit costs. Once we have some more land worked I will add in the workers to help with that. Until then it would be nice to have some KISS gold if they can spare it.

    Reason for cavs is their 50% retreat rate, and therefore greater survivability; making them better to attack stacks that MIA could drop and whittle them down. I will change to rifles if that is the consensus though.

    Agree with KC, cavs have the offensive edge over using infantry, especially when fighting on railed home soil where retreated cavs can be immediately withdrawn to a rax town to heal.

    Until the advent of tanks I think we need a combined arms force of art, cavs and inf.

    Should we consider switching off science for a few turns after discovering RP in order to upgrade our MW's, canon and rifles?

    I'm sure I've seen somewhere Kiss offering to send us all the gpt they make, can our FA minister please clear this with them.

    Demand taxes from KISS, leave some of the unsettled land for a while to allow the appearence of barbarian vilages and then go in to kill it for 25 gold, do this repetadly usinf 2 mounted warriors, compensate the fog of war by placing a boat on the shore.

    Cavs? unupgradable therefore obsolete. I dont think MIA is producing any for sure.

    Frosted Lemon-> Rax- Rifle
    Munchkin-> Rifle- Rax
    Maple Frosted-> Worker- Settler
    Jam Filled-> Aque- Rax
    Gingerbread-> Worker- Worker
    3 more workers and a settler from the outlying provinces

    Reviewed placement of specialists and changed enough to get our gpt from -136 to -72. We have 101 in the bank. Looking at MIA's outlying cities, they are pretty small overall, my take is that they must be drafting rifles as KISS's culture wasn't great enough to have tons of resistance wouldnt you think?

    2 workers produced.

    ToE prebuild is 8 turns away once we have the last mountain railed. Rep Parts in 3 and then 4 turns for sci method. We have 4 cities at 20 shields or better now. It will take a good 15 turns to get all the irrigation mined and railroaded as needed, as I assume we are not going for sanitation. Research will be ToE (if we get it the standard AT and Electronics), then Factories, then Commie, and then Intelligence Agency/spies, unless there is another proposal. We have no Hoovers prebuild, but a factory and hydro plant in ToE city will get us Hoovers in 11 turns from scratch. MIA may beat us there if they continue a prebuild. With a hospital and improvements however, Krispy Kreme can do over 100 spt.

    Rep Parts in 2 with no gold loss, but our outlying cities are not growing at all. According to KISS MIA has some ships off their NW coast so dispatch a privateer up there to investigate. Still working on bringing a lot of the cities up to 20 spt.

    I would switch Cavalry builds to Infantry when RP is researched.
