I thought it is on the river...

But interesting idea to pu it on GL, and green circle will make fp "in operation".

    Let discuss...

@ Memento - it lies on the river.

@ Ivan - this is BG and we need it if we want to have it become a SF.

I meant GL at 4N. But too late, you did a move already.
Wit this layout red and green a bit close.
Without Lib hill will not work (j/k).
Also for NW pink I prefer to save forest.
But we need to scout more.

Hi, please use my latest "Sandkasten" to play it through. I was able to reach Philo on 36 with the original pink and it took 3 scientists. (Indicated them in my SS: Glastonbury's first turn, so we don't waste the irrigation, and 2 turns in Tintagel.) With the third town one turn later, we might need a 4th scientist?!? Better test it in the Sandkasten.

    Turns 28-30 gave 15 at 100% and 16 + 17 beakers at 80%.

    Somehow "not". 15+16+17=48; 150-48=102. I checked at turn 31,
13 bpt was not enough to finish Phylo at eight, whereas 13*8=104. That was a reason for little panic. Even next turn after 14 b came 13*7 was not enough.

Yes, I forgot: I had to change the plan because of the scout! I just checked, in turns 29 and 30 I was running 10/80/10, which meant 14 beakers and +1g into the bank. The 2g from the bank can be taken back later, so basically we have 3x15 = 45.
We have 1b buffer (151 in the original plan) and the remaining 2b can be gained by an additional scientist, so turn 36 should still be doable, I hope.

I and t-x also have this idea. The only question is to hire a Sci in Glaston or make a road and work on road...
Still no "consensus" what research "next".
Majority think that CoL "free tech", but Memento think that we can go to Republic straight.

Glastonbury one turn later is another problem that my ss does not take into account. In any case I would set it to scientist in the first turn. Does one of you have time to try it out in our test-save? I think this is important, before we play on.

Regarding research: CoL is decided. I hope that by that time our curragh has already found our neighbor. (For that reason I want to send it north, not south. The southern area can be scouted by the next free warrior.)
If the neighbor is far away, or they are willing to trade a military tech (WC, Bronze, Wheel), we may go for Republic right away! Otherwise we might better spend 4 turns and research WC first...

Our Curragh is 2-3 turns ready before Philo. to short to find our neighbour.
if WC only needs 4 turns, its ok for me. I think it is indeed wasting, but no drama. ;)

Lanzelot, will you already be ready to take your turns again?

    I assume yes.

When you settle the 3rd town, there may a good indicator if our corruption numbers are correct. If the 2nd shield is uncorrupted, but the 3rd is corrupted (you can check by working the forest), we should be safe to assume that the 4th is uncorrupted, right? And in this situation, corruption and waste should be the same %, right? So we could assume that roading first gives us an extra beaker every turn until Philo, thus 2 from the city center, and an uncorrupted one from the roaded wheat tile.

Next turn we are supposed to know for sure then if we need to apply any more scientistst to get Philo on 36-37.

Do we want to have the exploring warrior continue north, or have him clear the fog in the east of the cap?

Ok, I can take the turns till Friday.

If the curragh will go north, then I vote for the warrior to keep to the east.
If anybody has time to play our new sequence in the Sandkasten, then please do so... It'll show us, how many scientists we need for t36.

I was totally busy until today. Possibly I can run the test within the next 2 days, but probably not.

If it is only about the # of scientists in t36, then we do not need to apply many efforts. simply use as many as you need. Calculations are important to find whether we need MORE scientists than possible in t36.

the save is there. i dl it and had a look.

only thing i did is settle, as we know we are doing this. 2nd commerce is corrupted, 3rd is not. 4th? dunno. what do you think? i would ROAD first, because the road connection reduces the corrution as well.

warrior east is ok for me, but before i would like at least to continue one north to see if this is really an isthmus there, which is the way it looks to me.

there is 0 gold in our pocket.

I did not take into account corruption and third City. Last column total uncorrupted commerce from two Cities. Not much sense IMHO...

    actually 12 and 11

@t-x without road corruption 0.34466 with road 0.297794.
That mean 5->4 with road and 5->3 without.
