The Council has asked for Luxuries. We will send Furs, Spices and Silks.

Road to Kazgungudom; irrigate that tile, too.

We find some Saber ships in deep ocean SE of Free. We sink two Transports, which were carrying two Armies and 9 Modern Armor. We damage a vCruiser and lose a Stealth Bomber attacking the nearby Carrier. Five attacks, and our remaining Bombers are out of range.

The Council's letter, and Saber's lack of follow up in Free, helps me to believe that Saber is planning to invade The Council for a final blow. First, destroy their Apollo Program, to deny them a Space Victory. Then, once their forces are landed, to conquer The Counci's continent and claim it as their own. The Council is far weaker than we are and Saber, with Armies, could easily wage a war of attrition and just grind up The Council's military.

So I am sending our fleets towards the NE coast of The COuncil, in order to prevent, or at least delay, such an event.

Airlift one worker to the mainland.

Spacebarred our newest settler on the mainland; he could have gone to Marad-Dur, which somehow shrunk to size 1.

Change some Cruise Missle builds to rCavalry or harbors.

Send Furs, Spices, Silks and 1000 of 1200 gold to The Council. They asked for the luxuries (and we should have sent them earlier, if we had been thinking). The 1000 gold they did not ask for, but it will help them rush some units to defend against Saber. We also send Iron, though why The Council would need this I have no idea. We Accept our offer and send it on its way.

We have 6 Transports in Unshackled and 2 in Debt-Free, for 8 that are close to Saber. We have 6 more in Lake Port, but it would take them 2 turns to get close to Debt-Free (Lake Port ot Weltonspolt in 1 turn; Weltonsplot to 1S of Debt-Free on turn 2). With the initial 8 that means 48 units to invade; 6 more adds 36, for a total of 84. On the mainland I count 34 Modern Armor not in cities and 40 Mech Infantry, most in coastal cities. I was planning to use empty hulls also, as bullet bait.

On 11NW, the cities of Freeborn and Sid City are now part of Saber. This has led to a lot of riots. No naval forces remain in the area. Mech Infantry and a Stealth Fighter are all that remain in Martin Luther King Jr. on 11NW.

The Gulag got nuked and is now isolated. We'll tell The Council. At this point a phoney war works to our advantage, somewhat, now that the luxuries are cut-off. We don't have anything to lose. I'll be sending them a note about that shortly.

Lots of rioting cities but they are mostly easy fixes. I tried to get as much gold as I could last turn. That meant we had no cushion for war weariness.

Well, getting workers to The Council won't work as I thought. My plan was to build some airfields near to The Old Gong Isle, gift the cities around the airfields to The Council, move our stack of Settlers onto one of the airfields and get The Council to declare war on us on their turn, sail from The Old Gong Isle to Gong, capture the settlers and start flying them back to their home.

The Council does not have any Transports. And Privateers cannot carry cargo.

I was hoping to use the turn or two before The Gulag is reconnected as the time for this Phoney War, since it would minimize the number of turns of less luxuries, which might be bigger than we expect.

Thinking out loud....


We could gift them Tujana (6) of Gong; it has an airport already built and Furs and Silks are within its initial nine tiles. We could add some airfields around it, and move the settlers in. The Council would have to rush a unit their next turn (303), or airlift one to the city; I would probably airlift the Mech Infantry in The Old Gong Isle. They would also have to declare war, too; or we would on our Turn 303. On Turn 303 they will move to reconnect The Gulag, but that won't happen until Turn 304 or 305 (worker dependent). Even if they do reconnect on 304, they can still capture the settlers and start sending them across the ocean, which is the purpose of all this anyway.

We have plenty of Furs and Silks, though all are on Gong. We do give up a airport in Gong, but we have others. More importantly, it would give The Council their own source of Furs and Silks.

2.1 - Coordinated Capturing of Units

It is prohibited for teams to capture and recapture each turn units such as workers, catapults, and other non-combat units for the intent of using them twice in a turn against another team.

This mentions capture and recapture. There will be no recapture. Once they are gone, they are gone. Besides, this exchange saves us 28 gpt; why would we want to undo that?
