Great people can now settle on an improved tile. I assume if a late resource pops up it can still be improved despite the fact we may have built a landmark!
Naval Tradition - Embarked units get an extra move, this will add a great deal to archipelago maps.

I think you understood the great people thing wrong. You can make the great people improvement on resource tile even now at least if it has not been revealed yet. Happen to me few times. The thing they changed was that you don't have to build the improvement and replace the great person improvement to connect the resource. So you will get the resource and don't have to choose if the resource is more important than the great person improvement.

Will it also work the other way around? So say I've discovered oil and see an unimproved tile, I can just plop down a great person and presto, instant oilwell?

You forgot another thing directly copied from Thal's Balance Mod:

Academy yield increases with Scientific Theory.
Customs House yield increases with Economics.
Manufactory yield increases with Chemistry.

But,if you see well, many things in this patch was copied from this outstanding mod and 2kGreg doesn't even thank to the modders community for those wonderful ideas.

Agreed. Thal and his disciples who designed that mod, deserve all the praise they can get and then some. It really is outstanding and as a bonus, a specialist economy is doable for CiV just as it was with Civ IVbts because of this mod.

Isn't the fact that parts of the mod are in the patch praise of itself? ;)
Well, not really, if they just sort of 'borrowed' the good stuff from a mod instead of working it out themselves. They are professional game designers, yes? ;)

I'll add that there's much more good stuff in TBM not included in the patch, while the worst offenders in the patch, are not in TBM.

IMO, Thal fixed RAs as they should have been all along...

Well, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and all that. I think the TBM guys should be proud some of their stuff got incorporated. <shrug>

Trust me, the mod community gets its thanks. Remember that Jon Shafer got hired by Civ because of his great mods. The company notices. If someone is doing good enough mods, they have a good chance of being contacted about future games at the very least beta testing.
