Depends... would groups converted to atheists come with the enlightened worldview that generally accompanies enlightened atheists, or would they get all depressed at the perceived sudden lack of meaning in life?

If I were given the choice, I would convert Atheism to Christianity. It has such a great influence on both Western and East Asian culture.

As for the second choice, I would convert Islam to Agnosticism, if that's legal in this hypothetical scenario.

First of all, because atheism is a belief system that crosses cultural barriers and is present in virtually every society.

Also, religion does not necessarily create conflict. Remember that most of our major religions have founding prophets who promoted messages of peace in the faith, not conflict.
