U.N. sanctions are killing me

I am trying for my first Emporer Domination victory and U.N. sanctions are killing me. I'd like to run State Property and Police State but U.N. resolutions are preventing me from this. What happens if I destroy the U.N.? Will these resolutions remain in effect? If I manage to get control, can I reverse them?

Playing plain vanilla in case it matters.

You should be able to reverse them with enough population, I think...but I don't know.

If I remember correctly, already passed resolutions remain even after the UN has been reduced to rubble.

I agree with you that sanctions can really cramp your style.

I finally got control of the U.N. and was able to reverse previously passed resolutions. One at a time. I neglected to save before I captured the U.N. city so I don't know what happens if it is destroyed.
