Well Heathrow has an underground connection so...
I think he means either the 23rd feb or march 1st is good
Easyjet doesn't go to Heathrow, It'll be either Gatwick, Stansted (think they have a train) and Luton
Stevie, when I visit my parents I use RyanAir, Prestwick to Stansted. Pretty cheap if you book in advance and fly at silly times of the day. They do cheap Stansted "Express" tickets as well (£10, I think, buy on the plane) which then take you into Liverpool Street.
Stansted is a much more manageable sized airport than either Heathgrow or Grotwick, and, if you take only hand luggage and check in on-line, it's about as painless as air flight in the UK gets nowadays.
Getting to and from Prestwick, of course, is a different matter....
I've got fairly good experiences with Stansted, Luton and Gatwick. But don't forget you will need a 12 pound / 45 minute train from either airport to the city, whereas your train from Scotland will bring you to the right spot directly.
I'd go but the funds say no, 3 other foreign trips lined up. sorry
Hmm, that's possible, I'll try to work it all out tonight when I finish work
If you have a young person's rail card you can get a return ticket from Gatwick that includes unlimited underground and bus travel for the day for about £10. But then the next day will cost you ~£7 or so to get back to Gatwick, if you're staying the night.
For the best really. NonCon was practically swearing allegiance to Sean Connery and the rest of the Scots when he met me at the last meet. Bless him.
Ah yes, the Sean Connery incident...
WHY do I have to live in DK?
Donkey Kong? Sweet!
No Denmark silly
Isn't it time to make a formal "Yes I will be there list", now that I have actually booked tickets .
Yes, so, I won't be there this time, but I hope you all have a good time and take many photos for us lurkers to see.
Oh and : Bonne année !
I'm in, never been to London before
Can the OP be updated with the details we've discussed, times we're meeting etc.
If we're meeting at Starbucks again we have maps of where it is so anyone who hasn't been before will find us. I look forward to seeing everyone, old and new alike.
In London be beasts! Those beasts eat Scots! Beware!
Haven't booked tickets yet, but will definitely be there.
Would definitely want to meet at the Starbucks again. Probably the only place of last year I can remember how to get to
