UK Politics IV - In Lies we Don't Truss

What I found interesting was the guardian article's reference to the NHS Constitution.

I have always regarded that as a bit like the heffalump.

Anyway apparently they have produced a 51 page childrens picture book style easy to read version of the NHS Constitution.

Perhaps they did it for Stephen Barclay (who promised to update it) to read ?

and/or

Perhaps to cover up for the absence of any coherent NHS Constitution.

Reality is we could be about 5 years away from our own Trump or Orban
Mate, you're ruled by the Conservative party.

Which is weird, because people keep voting for the party that keeps coming out with lines like this.
Technically, people don't vote for the Tories, it's just that FPTP and the rules dependent on it are effectively institutionalised fraud.

Sensible people think that the world is sensible and that the arc of history bends inevitably towards sensibleness. They are terrible allies because they stay home and do nothing, as they believe they need do nothing.

Reality is we could be about 5 years away from our own Trump or Orban, and on the day they are elected the Sensibles will act as if it were completely surprising.

fascism is here in britain and it has been for sometime, it's time to accept this

Brexit: Michael Gove claims infamous £350m a week for NHS promise ‘delivered’

Cabinet minister Michael Gove has claimed that the infamous Brexit campaign promise about leaving the EU leading to £350 a week for the NHS had been “delivered”. The levelling up secretary offered no evidence for his claim on a Brexit boost for the health service, as he recalled the notorious pledge on the side of the Vote Leave battle bus.

Mr Gove – one of the key Tory figures behind the official Leave campaign along with Boris Johnson – used his conference speech in Manchester to talk up Brexit benefits.

“Brexit has been delivered, and membership of the world’s fast growing trade block secured,” the senior minister said on the move to join the Indo-Pacific trade partnership.

Mr Gove added: “And there is now more than £350m extra a week for our NHS … Promise made, promise delivered.”

:lol::lol:

The UK Government apparently resorts to a new concept of make-believe politics; just imagine it is real... and it becomes real.

Perhaps everyone can just imagine that the HS2 will be built all the way to Manchester... and that will be enough to 'level up the North'.

....sensible people don't believe that the UK is fascist....

...amazing people imagining that leavers voted purely on the basis of a campaign slogan on the side of a bus....

....sensible people don't believe that the UK is fascist....
Sensible people understand that "fascism is here" isn't always the same as "the place is fascist".

But I suspect you understand the semantics very well. Any reason to make a problem seem like not a problem. That's the aim, right?

The mere fact that a conservative politician made a statement that one poster does not approve of, does not prove that there are fascists in the UK.

There are no doubt a few cranks here who might reasonably be descibed as fascists, but that is hardly fascism as an established movement in the UK.

I wouldn't be surprised if a percentage of voters are by and large fascist.
Not that I expect this percentage to be larger in England than in the rest of the continent.

Nobody said this was the case.

You keep attaching criteria that, I'm assuming, are part or all of the basis for you to consider the claim as valid.

And even if I managed to tease out the complete list, at the end of the day that's just like, your opinion, man. So what?

Are your problems also fantasy creatures? I'm assuming you consider them more concrete, you see.

What are you talking about ?

I have not attached any criteria.

The statement:

fascism is here in britain and it has been for sometime, it's time to accept this

has not yet been supported by any evidence put forward here.

Or to write the headline differently:

‘Single sex wards to be properly enforced going forward, health secretary confirms’.

This is purely framing.

By the way, I also agree that the nhs has much bigger issues to worry about that perhaps the health secretary should rather focus on…

Thereby pretending that trans women are neither women nor men. This may be purely theatre, but it's vicious and destructive and absolutely not what any responsible minister should be focused on.

It's not like Keir supports trans either.

"Trans" is an adjective, not a noun. This is like using "illegal" as a noun, and serves to 'other' the targeted groups.

Which is weird, because people keep voting for the party that keeps coming out with lines like this.

Reality suggests people are fooled, because they vote for such, or even more alarmingly, in spite of such.

Aren't the conservatives heading towards an utter trouncing at the polls?

Shock as the dude with gender critical leanings is on with treating trans people like we're lepers
