UK Politics VI - Will Britain Steir to Karmer Waters?

I mean, if you're here to quibble over a technicality, then sure, other members of the Royal Family were at times blamed. Mainly Harry. But only because of Meghan, which is what it always came back to.

Which is what was meant, rather than a tedious appeal to a literal claim of "no men have ever been blamed for anything".

Alex Salmond, the former Scottish First minister, passed away today. May he rest in peace.

It was reported that he collapsed mid speech in North Macedonia.

Whilst I did not agree with his politics, I think few could argue that he was a man of substance, who put forward his arguments and wasn’t afraid of debate. He took Scotland to the brink of independence, but also governed Scotland well.

He was also one of the few politicians I’ve seen ‘up close’.

One of the very few honenst politicians in the UK, acted as he talked, and the only one with the capacity to gety himself elected to govern.

The accusations against him where shown to be false. Thos ein thrall of the estabelishment media would not know that, of course. How they were stright out manufactured by his successor and her acolytes, personally involved in the fabrications. You know, that very corrupt woman who took over an independist party, talked a lot about scottish independence but made sure to torpedo every chance at it.

That was Salmond's big flaw. Loke Correa in Equador, he got easily deceived into supporting an agent of the enemy as succsssor.

The newspapers always blame the women of the royal family and never the men for having tiffs. I'm unclear if this is some stupid Fleet Street code or excessive deference.
As always, why not both?

If Labour don't start chalking up some "wins" or at least "change" I really don't understand how they can survive, even with their majority.

Why are we not seeing the groundwork laid for the promises they made before they got into power?

Labour have had some minor successes.

They appear to have settled a number of disputes with the trade unions in the NHS and the Railways.

I suspect that is more to do with wanting union support, than good governance, but it is an attitude change from the we hate trade unions.

And one might argue, that is at an inflationary cost; but the conservative government had merely let matters fester.

And they plan to professionalise the care services which may make it a more attractive career and improve the quality of care.

Because they promised very little and so have very little to actually give

Because, like with every general election ever, they were empty promises.

I was hoping for a few nationalisations, a few bills to get nimbys to do one.. etc

Having hope is not always naivety. You don't have to be so condescending with your tone today.

Sorry that the obviously slimy dude who has the manner and affect of a used car salesman desperate for power and money, with no principles or anything remotely resembling a conscience, who betrays the communities he claims he cares about the second it's no longer politically expedient, who is the world's most obvious intelligence plant has disappointed you

It's a shocking thing that no one could have predicted appart from those that told you who he was prior to his election

I hope that with time you can come to forgive me for condescension

I'm sorry you think he is a God king from which all derives. There is the entire political machine to blame, not just one man.

You're so right, he has his intelligence handlers and big business bosses to worry about after all

He truly lacks autonomy, he's just a sad little boy forced to deprive others of benefits and necessities that he himself enjoyed

He's the real victim here @Aiken_Drumn and not the country who bought into his lie of "change"

Get real, this dude is no different from any other politician desperate to fleece their constituents, he'll happily deprive others if basics whilst enriching himself and rather than grasp that basic reality, you'll sacrifice your own integrity in a desperate bid to defend a dude who couldn't care less about you and yours

Edit:

I just can't get over you defending a dude who's entire plan is a rerun of conservative economic policies, neoliberalism and trickle down economics, the dude's a con man and you bought into him and that's something you need to come to terms with before getting angry at me

I'm happy if folks want to agree that there are more folks to blame than one man, as that includes that one man in the blame.

Yes? Or no?
